No insulation on it. The E6-12 is a non-insulated, brazed seam barrel in bare electro tin-plated copper, so if the termination needs to be covered you add heat shrink or a boot yourself. That is also why it handles a 150 degree C temperature rating, higher than any nylon or vinyl insulated ring would.

600V. That covers standard commercial and industrial branch circuits, panel and motor terminations, and control gear. It is listed UL and CSA.

Both work. The serrated barrel bites into the conductor to hold grip, and for solid wire Thomas & Betts calls for a double indentor crimp rather than a single indentor. On stranded, either crimp style is acceptable.

Yes, the E6-12 is RoHS compliant, and it carries a UL 94 V-0 flammability rating. Useful if you are supplying a facility or OEM with a restricted substances requirement on the bill of materials.

Two reasons. The E6-12 is electrolytic copper with a tin plate, so conductivity is high and the plating slows corrosion at the lug face. And with no insulation in the way it takes 150 degree C, so it belongs on high-temperature terminations, motor leads and anything inside a hot enclosure where a vinyl or nylon barrel would soften. If you want a color-coded, one-step termination on low-temperature control wiring instead, an insulated ring is the easier choice.

They are sold each, but ordered in multiples of 20. Inner pack is 20, outer carton is 100, and an alternate pack of 75 exists. Weight runs 1.81 lbs per 100 pieces, which is worth knowing if you are stocking a truck or a crib in quantity.
