1) Does the ROFU 9500 push bar latch the door, or is it just a switch?
It does not latch anything. The 9500 Series is a non-latching push bar with a micro switch output, so there is no latchbolt and no mechanical security. It is used on emergency egress doors to cut power to a magnetic lock when someone pushes it. The door still needs the maglock (and whatever strike or closer the opening requires) to hold it shut.
2) Can I wire the ROFU 9500-36 to both a maglock and an alarm or door monitoring input?
Yes. The bar uses a double pole micro switch, so you get two independent sets of contacts off one push: one set can break the maglock power circuit and the other can trigger a local alarm, a shunt, or an input on the access control panel.
3) Can the push bar be locked down so it stays released for deliveries?
Yes. A special key lets you lock the 9500 bar in either the closed or the open (depressed) position. Held open, the switch stays actuated so the maglock stays unlocked for a delivery window or a scheduled free-access period; locked closed, the bar cannot be pushed.
4) I have a 42 inch door. Will the 9500-36 work?
No. The 34-1/2 inch bar is cut for a 36 inch leaf and will leave an awkward gap on a wider door, which also puts the push surface off center relative to the frame. Look for the 9500 Series bar sized to your leaf width instead of forcing the 36 inch version.
5) Do I still need a request-to-exit device if I install a ROFU 9500 micro switch bar?
The bar itself is the mechanical release. Pushing it throws a double pole micro switch that drops the maglock directly, so it serves as the egress release on that opening. What it does not do is lock or latch anything, so the maglock and its power supply are still required to secure the door.
6) What finishes does the ROFU 9500-36 micro switch bar come in?
Two: black and satin aluminum (US28). Satin aluminum is the usual match for aluminum storefront and anodized frames, black for dark anodized or painted hollow metal.
