Both wiring modes are sold. The 9600 comes in NO-Momentary and NC-Momentary, so you pick the one that matches your controller input. A maglock circuit that drops power on exit is normally closed in series with the lock; a REX input on an access panel that expects a dry contact closure is normally open. The switch is momentary either way, so it makes or breaks only while the mushroom button is pressed and resets on release.

The 9600 push button is rated 3A at 240V on a single-pole single-throw contact, which is enough to break the DC supply to a typical mag lock or strike inline without a relay, provided the lock's current draw stays under 3 amps. Anything above that, or a load you want isolated from the button run, needs a relay between the button and the lock.

Two plate sizes are made: a standard plate at 4-3/4 x 3 x 1/4 inches and a narrow plate at 4-3/4 x 1-5/8 x 1/4 inches. The standard plate covers a single gang opening; the narrow plate is the one to use on a door frame or mullion where there isn't 3 inches of flat surface to land a plate on. Both plates are 1/4 inch thick aluminum.

The button head is a 2-3/8 inch red mushroom, so it is a full palm strike rather than a fingertip press. That is the point of the mushroom shape on an exit or emergency release, someone leaving in a hurry, wearing gloves, or pushing a cart can hit it without aiming.

The cover plate is 1/4 inch aluminum and tamper resistant, and the button ships with two snake eyes security screws plus the wrench to drive them. The snake eyes head is what keeps a standard screwdriver or hex key from taking the plate off the wall, which is the usual failure point on a public-side exit button. Keep the wrench, you need it again for service.

Two finishes: US28 satin aluminum and US40 dark anodized bronze. US28 is the standard match for aluminum storefront and clear anodized frames, US40 for dark bronze anodized entrances.
