Metallics M145000 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What size and length is the Metallics M145000 pull rope?
The Metallics M145000 is a 1/4 inch diameter pull rope supplied on a 5,000 foot put-up, built in a 3-strand twisted construction. One continuous 5,000 foot reel covers a lot of conduit runs, so it is the quantity an electrical contractor or MRO stockroom buys rather than a single-job length.
2) Is the M145000 pull rope the right thing for pulling wire through conduit?
Yes, that is what it is for. The M145000 is a 1/4 inch 3-strand pull rope used to pull conductors through conduit and raceway. The twisted 3-strand lay lets you splice or tie off easily and takes a knot well; for fishing an empty, long or tightly bent conduit first, you would use a fish tape or a blown-in line, then attach this rope as the pulling line.
3) What part number do I order for the Metallics 1/4 inch 5,000 foot pull rope?
Order Metallics M145000. That is the manufacturer part number for the 1/4 inch x 5,000 foot 3-strand pull rope, and it is the only configuration offered under that number.
