1) Will the Sargent 465 deadbolt fit a 1-3/8 inch door, or does it need a 1-3/4 inch door?
The 465 Series single cylinder deadbolt covers door thickness from 1-3/8 inches all the way to 2 inches, so it drops onto older 1-3/8 inch interior doors, standard 1-3/4 inch commercial doors, and thicker 2 inch doors without a separate part number. That range is the reason it turns up on mixed-vintage buildings where the doors are not all the same thickness.
2) Which backset do I order for a Sargent 465 deadbolt if my door is already bored?
Backset is a choice on the 465, either 2-3/8 inches or 2-3/4 inches, and those are the two standard bores you will find in an existing door. Measure from the door edge to the center of the existing cross bore and order to match. Getting it wrong means the bolt will not line up with your strike prep.

6) Can the Sargent 465 be keyed into my existing Sargent master key system?
Yes. The cylinder is a rekeyable 6-pin brass cylinder that works with Sargent masterkey systems, and you select the keyway at order time from LA standard plus the full C, H, L and R families, along with R, S, U and SE. Match the keyway already in your building and the new deadbolt falls under the same master. Keying is ordered as Standard Keying, KD keyed different, or KA keyed alike, so a run of storage rooms can all take one key.
7) Do I have to specify handing on a Sargent 465 deadbolt?
