Satco Lighting 80-977 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What size recessed housing does the Satco 80-977 baffle trim fit?
The Satco 80-977 is a 6 inch deep baffle trim, so it is sized for 6 inch recessed housings or cans. Measure the inside diameter of your existing can opening, not the visible trim ring, when matching it.
2) Is the Satco 80-977 trim a light bulb or just the trim ring?
It is the trim only. The 80-977 is a deep baffle trim in black finish that drops into a 6 inch recessed can; the lamp or LED retrofit module is a separate purchase.
3) Will a black baffle trim cut glare better than a white one in a commercial space?
A deep baffle with a black finish is the darker of the common choices, and the ribbed baffle plus the deeper cone is what absorbs stray light at the aperture. The Satco 80-977 is that configuration in 6 inch. Where the goal is matching a white ceiling rather than knocking down glare, a white baffle is the usual pick instead.
4) What part number should I give my supplier for the Satco 6 inch black deep baffle trim?
Order it as Satco 80-977, also printed as 80/977. That is the manufacturer part number for the 6 inch deep baffle trim in black.
5) What finish does the Satco 80-977 come in?
Black is the only finish offered on the 80-977. If your other cans are trimmed in white or brushed nickel, this one will read noticeably darker at the ceiling, which matters on a multi-unit or hospitality job where the openings are meant to match.
