Satco Lighting S11307 – Frequently Asked Questions

1) How bright is this 4W amber CA11 filament lamp compared to an incandescent?
It is rated 200 lumens at 4 watts and Satco calls it a 40W incandescent equivalent. Note the 2100K amber output: this is a warm, vintage-looking lamp, not a general task light, so it reads dimmer than a 2700K 40W bulb even at the same nominal equivalence.
2) Can I put this bulb in an enclosed fixture or an outdoor covered porch light?
Yes on enclosed fixtures, it is an enclosed rated lamp, so sealed globes and lanterns are fine. Location rating is Damp, which covers covered porches, soffits and bathrooms, but not wet locations with direct rain or sprinkler exposure.
3) Is the Satco S11307 dimmable, and will it work on my existing dimmer?
It is a dimmable LED at 120V drawing only 0.033A. That tiny load is the thing to watch: older magnetic or high minimum load dimmers often flicker or refuse to start with a single 4W lamp. On a chandelier with several lamps, or on an LED-rated dimmer, it behaves normally.
4) Will this bulb match the other lamps in my fixture if the rest are 2700K soft white?
No, and it will look obviously different. At 2100K with a spun amber glass lens, the S11307 is a deep vintage amber glow, well below the 2700K soft white most candelabra lamps use. If you are relamping a multi-light chandelier, change all of them together.
5) Can this amber LED be installed base up in a chandelier or does it have to point up?
Burning position is universal, so base up, base down, or horizontal are all acceptable. The 300 degree beam spread means the light throws nearly all the way around the lamp, which is what you want for exposed candelabra fixtures.
6) Does this Satco candelabra lamp qualify for California Title 24?
Yes, it is listed as Title 24 compliant, and it is FCC compliant as well. It is not DLC listed, so it will not count toward DLC-based commercial rebate programs.
7) How long does this LED filament candelabra bulb last in a hospitality or common-area fixture?
Rated life is 15,000 hours. Run roughly 12 hours a night in a lobby or corridor sconce, that is about three and a half years between relamps. It is an LED filament design in glass, so it reads like a vintage bulb while pulling 4 watts.
8) Is the S11307 a three-way or color-selectable bulb?
Neither. It is a fixed 2100K amber lamp with no CCT selection and no three-way circuitry, so it should not be installed in a three-way socket expecting stepped output. For output control, use it on a dimmer instead.
9) Is the color quality good enough for a restaurant dining room?
CRI is 80, which is standard for decorative LED and fine for ambiance lighting. Paired with the 2100K amber glass it gives a candle-like tone rather than accurate color rendering, so if you are lighting food or artwork for color fidelity, put a higher CRI lamp on those fixtures and keep these for atmosphere.
