3000K is warm white, a touch crisper than the 2700K of a classic incandescent but still on the warm side of neutral. It reads as soft yellow-white, not the blue-white of 4000K or 5000K. If the other fixtures on the floor are 2700K, the S28653 will look slightly whiter beside them; if they are 3000K, it matches. Color temperature mismatch in a corridor is the most common complaint after a partial relamp, so pick one number and standardize.

It is a CEC listed lamp, meaning it is registered with the California Energy Commission's Modernized Appliance Efficiency Database. California requires general service lamps sold into the state to be CEC listed, so the S28653 clears that hurdle for jobs in California. Contractors bidding CA work should treat CEC listing as a line-item requirement, not a bonus.

CRI measures how accurately a light source renders color against a reference. At 90 CRI the S28653 sits in the high-fidelity tier, well above the 80 CRI that most commodity LED A19s hit. It matters where color judgment happens: hotel guest rooms and lobbies, retail display, healthcare exam and patient areas, paint and finish selection, and any space where skin tones need to look right. For a back-of-house corridor or a storage room, 80 CRI is enough and 90 CRI is money you do not need to spend.

Depends on who sees the room. For unit interiors in market-rate or upper-tier multi-family, hospitality, and anywhere finishes and skin tones are on display, the 90 CRI S28653 at 3000K is the right call and tenants notice the difference. For stairwells, mechanical rooms, parking, and back-of-house, a standard 80 CRI A19 at the same lumen output does the job for less. Mixing the two in the same sightline is the mistake to avoid: buy by space, not by unit.

The S28653 is a 120V medium base A19 rated at 16.5 watts, so electrically it goes anywhere a standard A-lamp socket exists, including recessed cans and enclosed sconces from a wiring standpoint. Heat is the variable in fully sealed enclosures: LED lamps run their electronics inside the base, and trapped heat shortens life. Where the fixture is fully gasketed or sealed, specify a lamp the manufacturer marks as enclosed-rated rather than assuming any A19 LED will hold up.
