1) Will the Satco S8052 string light bulb work in an outdoor patio light string?
Yes. The S8052 G25 LED lamp is wet location rated and listed for both indoor and outdoor use, so it can go in an uncovered patio or cafe string outside. It runs on 120V at 60Hz, which is standard line voltage for commercial string light sets.
2) Can I put the Satco S8052 on a dimmer for my restaurant patio?
No. The S8052 is not dimmable, so putting it on a dimmer circuit can cause flicker, buzz or early failure. If the string is switched through a dimmer, either bypass the dimmer or choose a dimmable G25 LED instead.
3) How bright is the 2 watt Satco S8052 compared to the incandescent bulb it replaces?
It puts out 80 lumens on 2 watts and is rated as a 15W incandescent equivalent, which is the wattage most cafe string sets originally shipped with. Expect the same soft glow, not task-level light. The 2200K color temperature is a warm amber, close to a filament bulb at low output, with a CRI of 80.
4) Is 2200K too warm for my string lights, or does it match the rest?
2200K is a deep warm amber, warmer than the 2700K of most standard soft white lamps, and it reads as candle or vintage filament light. This lamp is fixed at 2200K and is not CCT selectable, so if the other bulbs in your string are 2700K the mix will be visible. Relamp the whole string to keep the color consistent.
5) Is the light from this clear G25 bulb spread all the way around, or directional?
Spread is 300 degrees, so the clear glass globe throws light nearly all the way around with only the base end shaded. That is what you want overhead on a string, where light needs to fall down and sideways across a patio rather than in a beam.
6) How long do the Satco S8052 replacement bulbs last before a property has to relamp?
