Schaub 7495-AN – Frequently Asked Questions

1) Will the Schaub 7495 appliance pull line up with my existing 15 inch hole spacing on the refrigerator panel?
Yes, if the existing holes are 15 inches apart on center. The Schaub 7495 Colonial appliance pull is a 15 inch center-to-center pull with a 16 inch overall length, so the two posts drop straight into 15 inch spaced bores. If your panel is drilled to any other spacing, you'd need to re-drill or choose a different center size.
2) What screw size does the Schaub 7495 Colonial appliance pull take, and will standard cabinet screws work?
It takes 1/4-20 threaded screws, not the 8-32 machine screws used on ordinary cabinet pulls. Appliance pulls of this size use the heavier 1/4-20 thread because the pull carries the weight of a refrigerator or freezer panel door. If you're reusing hardware from a smaller pull, the screws will not thread in.
3) What can I use instead of the Schaub 7495 appliance pull if the cabinet door only has 3 or 4 inch drilled centers?
The Schaub 7495 is drilled at 15 inch center to center with a 16 inch overall length, so it will not land on short existing holes. For short centers, the Trimco 553 series drawer pulls are 3 inch center to center, and the Trimco 562 series is offered in 3-1/2 inch, 4 inch, and 96mm center to center. The Omnia 1968/102 modern cabinet pull is also a 4 inch center to center forged solid brass pull.
4) How far does the Schaub 7495 stand off the door, and will it clear a cabinet in a tight galley?
Projection is 2-1/4 inches from the face of the panel to the back of the grip, with a 7/8 inch base dimension where it meets the door. That 2-1/4 inches is deep enough to get a full hand and forearm behind it for pulling a heavy appliance door, but it is a real intrusion in a narrow walkway, so measure your clearance to the opposite run of cabinets before committing.
5) What finishes does the Schaub 7495 Colonial appliance pull come in?
Eight finishes: Oil Rubbed Bronze, Satin Nickel, Polished Chrome, Antique Nickel, Aurora Bronze, Flat Black, Polished Nickel, and Polished Brass. That spread lets you match the pull to whatever is already on the surrounding cabinet run, whether the kitchen is running warm bronze tones or bright nickel and chrome.
6) I want a modern look instead of the Colonial Schaub 7495 - what solid brass pulls are the alternative?
The Schaub 7495 is a Traditional style pull from the Colonial collection in solid brass. If the kitchen is being spec'd modern, the Omnia 1969, 1970, and 1971 cabinet pulls are all forged solid brass modern pulls, with the 1969 and 1971 at 1-3/16 inch projection and the 1970 at 1-1/4 inch projection, versus the 2-1/4 inch projection on the 7495. The Deltana SBP35 is a modern square bar pull at 3-1/2 inch in solid brass as well.
7) Do I need to order anything besides the pull to finish the install on a refrigerator panel?
The mounting hardware is 1/4-20 thread, and appliance panel thicknesses vary a lot between a thin overlay panel and a thick custom door, so the screw length you need depends on your panel. Measure the panel thickness and match 1/4-20 screws to it. Nothing else is required, the pull mounts through two 15 inch spaced holes.
8) Can I match Schaub Colonial styling on the smaller cabinet pulls and knobs in the same kitchen?
Yes. Emtek carries the Schaub Collection under its SELECT line, including the Emtek 8405 Select cabinet pulls and knobs plus the Alexander, Art Deco, and Bar series. Those give you knob and smaller pull options in the same family so the appliance panels and the cabinet run stay consistent.
9) We want to standardize a kitchen on knobs rather than long pulls - what pairs with or replaces the Schaub 7495 at knob size?
The Schaub 7495 is a 15 inch center to center appliance pull, so it has no knob equivalent, but for the door and drawer fronts the Orca Hardware Bachelor Collection CK-15030 round knob and CK-16030 round ring knob are both 1-1/4 inch diameter, and the Blackcomb CK-17025 is a 25mm square knob. Those are single-hole knobs and will not reuse the two-hole 15 inch drilling.
10) Is the Orca CK-12001 T-pull bar an alternative to the Schaub 7495 appliance pull?
They are built differently. The Schaub 7495 is solid brass and offered in eight finishes including oil rubbed bronze, satin nickel, polished chrome, and flat black. The Orca Hardware CK-12001 is a steel T-pull bar with a 2 inch bar width in satin nickel. If the job calls for a brass appliance pull in a specific decorative finish, the 7495 is the one that carries that finish range.
