Only if the keyway matches. The Schlage 35-268 blank is sold in six Schlage keyways: S123, S125, S134, S145, S245 and S345. A blank only enters and turns in a cylinder cut for that same keyway section, so pull the keyway stamp off your existing key or cylinder before ordering. Order the wrong section and the blank will not enter the plug at all, no matter how it is cut.

It is an embossed marking on the key bow, not a patent or a restricted keyway. The 35-268 is a standard Schlage blank in a conventional keyway (S123, S125, S134, S145, S245 or S345), so any shop with that blank can physically cut it. The stamp is a deterrent and a policy tool, which is what most property managers and MRO buyers want it for. If you need copying to be legally and mechanically controlled, you need a patented restricted keyway system with a key control card, not a DND-stamped conventional blank.

All the cylinders involved have to be in the same keyway as the blank you pick, so a KA set built on an S123 blank will not work on a cylinder cut for S145.

Read the stamp. Schlage stamps the keyway designation (for example S123 or S145) on the key bow and on the cylinder plug face. Pull one existing key and check the bow first; if it has been worn off, remove a cylinder and read the plug. Match that stamp to one of the six sections the 35-268 comes in: S123, S125, S134, S145, S245 or S345. Guessing is the single most common way this part gets ordered wrong, because a mis-sectioned blank will not enter the plug.

No handing to specify. The 35-268 key blank is non-handed, so the same part serves left- and right-hand doors. Handing is a lock and lever question, not a key question. The only thing you specify is keyway, keying (KD or KA) and, if you have it, the key code.
