1) Will the Schlage L Series Gen 2 indicator work with an L9050 mortise lock?
Yes, on sectional trim. The Gen 2 L Series indicator is made to work with the L9050 and L9070 mortise locks as well as the L460 and L463, among others, but only where the lock is built with sectional trim. One full-length plate covering the lever and cylinder together is escutcheon trim, and this indicator will not mount to it.
3) Can a Schlage L Series indicator trim be used on a fire rated door?
UL listed for 3 hour fire doors, so it can go on openings up to that rating. It is also tested and certified to ANSI/BHMA Grade 1 for operational and security standards, which is the level most institutional openings are specified at. It is a commercial part, not a residential one.
4) I need to replace a Schlage L283-416 indicator. Is the Gen 2 indicator the right replacement?
