Schlage A Series 10-004 T-Strike w/ Box, 1-1/8" x 2-3/4", 1/4" Round Corner, 1-1/8" Lip

The 10-004 T-strike measures 1-1/8 x 2-3/4 inches with 1/4 inch round corners and a 1-1/8 inch lip. That is the standard T-strike footprint, so it drops into a frame already prepped for a 1-1/8 by 2-3/4 T-strike with rounded corners. If your existing plate has square corners or a different lip length, the prep will not match and you need a strike cut to that shape instead.

It is the replacement strike for Schlage B500 and B600 series deadbolts. If you are replacing a damaged or mismatched strike on one of those, this is the factory part for it.

The lip is the curved tongue that projects past the frame face to guide the bolt in and protect the jamb edge. At 1-1/8 inches it covers the trim reveal on a typical frame with a flush stop. Measure from the frame edge where the strike mounts out to the face of your door stop or casing: if that distance runs longer than 1-1/8 inches, the bolt will strike wood before it reaches the plate and you need a longer lip strike.

It is a commercial-rated part built in stainless steel, which is what you want on an opening that gets cycled hard or sits in a wet or coastal environment where a plated steel strike would rust at the screw holes.

The dust box is included. That is the sheet metal cup that sits behind the plate inside the frame cavity and keeps the deadbolt from hitting insulation, wiring, or raw stud. If you are strike-only and already have a sound box in the jamb, you are still getting both pieces here.

Four finishes: 605 bright brass, 612 satin bronze, 613 oil rubbed bronze, and 626 satin chrome. Schlage parts are finish specific, so order the strike in the same finish code as the deadbolt it serves. On a building standardized to 626 satin chrome, for instance, a 626 strike is the only one that will read as matched on the jamb.

A T-strike is the narrow-plate style, 1-1/8 inches across, used where the frame face does not give you room for a wide full-lip plate. It handles a deadbolt only, not a latch and deadbolt together. If your opening has a knob or lever latch and a deadbolt in the same jamb, you want a combination or full lip strike sized for both, not a T-strike.

Certified Schlage. For a property manager or MRO buyer keeping a fleet of B500 and B600 deadbolts on one standard, that matters: the prep, the lip geometry, and the finish codes all line up with the original hardware rather than close enough.

No handing on this one. The plate is symmetrical top to bottom with the lip on one long edge, so the same part serves left and right hand openings. Orientation is set by which way you turn the lip toward the door stop when you mount it.
