Schlage Commercial 10-055 Deadbolt Strike, 1-1/8" x 2-3/4", Square Corner for B Series

On the S200 Series it is listed as an option rather than the standard strike, so it will go on that lock but it is not the plate the lock is normally supplied with. Everything else on the fit list, B500, B600/700/800, B280, B/BA300, BC100, BE and BR260, takes the 10-055 as the standard deadbolt strike. On an S200 job, specify it deliberately rather than assuming it is the factory plate.

Depends on the corners of the pocket. The 10-055 measures 1-1/8 x 2-3/4 inches with square corners, so it seats where the frame has been mortised square, which is how a hollow metal frame or a chiselled wood jamb is normally prepped. If the plate you are pulling out has rounded corners, it was cut with a router bit and the square plate will not sit flush until you square those corners with a chisel. And if the pocket is not 1-1/8 x 2-3/4 inches, this is not the plate for that opening.

That is exactly what it is. The 10-055 is a replacement strike plate, the part that mounts into the door frame and receives the deadbolt when it throws. No lock body, no cylinder, no bolt. It is what you order when the original strike is bent, painted over, or the finish no longer matches the rest of the door hardware.

Only if they are machine screws. The 10-055 is specified for #8-32 x 3/4 inch flat head screws, and #8-32 is a machine thread, not a wood thread, so it lands in a tapped hole in a metal frame or in the threaded strike box behind the plate. A coarse wood screw pulled out of a residential jamb will not hold in that prep. The flat heads countersink flush with the face of the plate, which keeps the door edge and the bolt clear of the screw heads.

Three finishes: 605 bright brass, 606 satin brass, and 626 satin chrome. Those are BHMA finish numbers and the same numbers appear on the Schlage lock itself, so match the number, not the description, since polished and satin brass read alike in a photo and never do on the door. 626 satin chrome is the common commercial choice on B-series openings; 605 is the polished brass and 606 the brushed. Order to the number your existing locks carry and the plates will match across the building.

BE Series is on the fit list, so yes. The electronics sit in the deadbolt, not the strike, so a BE keypad lock uses the same 1-1/8 x 2-3/4 inch square corner plate as the mechanical B-series deadbolts. One thing worth caring about on a motor-driven bolt: set the plate so the bolt throws all the way in without rubbing. A strike that pinches the bolt makes a motorised deadbolt work against itself.

The 10-055 is the standard strike across B500, B600/700/800, B280, B/BA300, BC100, BE and BR260 deadbolts, and an option on S200, which is most of what hangs on a Schlage-equipped building. The variable is not the lock, it is the frame. The plate is square cornered at 1-1/8 x 2-3/4 inches, so any opening whose mortise was routed with radius corners needs those corners squared first.
