Schlage Commercial Blocking Ring, For Use With Compression Ring

A blocking ring is a spacer that sits behind the cylinder collar to take up excess space when the cylinder sits proud of the door face. It works together with a Schlage compression ring, which is the spring ring that holds tension on the assembly. The blocking ring itself has no moving parts, it just fills the gap so the cylinder seats tight and the trim sits flush.

Schlage blocking rings come in 1/4 inch, 3/8 inch and 1/2 inch. The thickness you want is the amount the cylinder currently stands off the face of the door or trim once the compression ring is in place. Measure that gap and pick the ring that closes it. If you are between sizes, order the pair that brackets your measurement, since these stack behind the collar and the wrong thickness leaves either a wobbling cylinder or a cylinder you cannot fully seat.

The blocking ring is sold on its own. It is made to be used with a Schlage compression ring, so if your existing assembly is missing the compression ring or you are building the stack from scratch, order that separately. The blocking ring alone will not hold tension on the cylinder.
