CS210-B60 - ENTRACE SINGLE LOCKING WITH RESIDENTIAL SPIN RING

Deadbolt operated by key from outside or by turn unit from inside. Bolt automatically deadlocks when fully thrown. Latch retracted by lever from either side. Turning inside lever retracts deadbolt and latch simultaneously for immediate exit.

Schlage CS210 SERIES OVERVIEW

CS200 Series interconnected locks provide exceptional performance, aesthetics and flexibility for both residential and commercial applications. It features single motion egress, retracting both the latch and deadbolt simply by rotating the inside lever, to meet Life and Safety code requirements. The CS200 Series also exceeds BHMA Grade 2 requirements for operational usage, security, cycle and finish.

The 18 lever designs, two outside deadbolt designs and two inside escutcheon designs, each in a choice of seven finishes, ensure the right aesthetics for any project.

Schlage CS210-B60PD SAT 626 CAM – Frequently Asked Questions

1) Will the Schlage CS210-B60 interconnected lock fit my existing 4 inch door prep, or do I need to re-drill for 5-1/2 inch?
Neither. The CS210 is field configurable for 4 inch or 5-1/2 inch center-to-center door prep, so one lock covers both of the common interconnected spacings without re-boring the door. Sort out which spacing your existing holes are on before you mount it, and set the lock to match. Latch backset is 2-3/8 inches.
2) Does the Schlage CS210 entrance lock let someone get out in one motion for egress code?
That is the point of the CS210 entrance function. Turning the inside lever retracts the deadbolt and the latch at the same time, so an occupant gets out in a single motion without thumbturning the deadbolt first. The deadbolt is thrown by key from outside or by the inside turn unit, and it automatically deadlocks when fully thrown. Single cylinder keyed function, two keys in the box.
3) Can I use the Schlage CS210-B60 on a 3 hour fire rated apartment entry door?
Yes. The CS210 Series is UL listed for 3 hour doors, tested and certified under ANSI/BHMA A156.12 Grade 2, and meets ADA requirements. It also meets the Buy American Act, which matters on federally funded work. Heavy duty rating, commercial classification.
4) Do I have to specify handing on a Schlage CS210 lever lock?
For most lever styles, no. The CS210-B60 is non-handed and ships with a dual option latch (12-339, 1 x 2-1/4 inch face) that works either way. Handing only has to be called out on seven of the lever designs: Accent, Avanti, Champagne, Callington, Flair, Manhattan and St. Annes. Order any of those and you specify right hand or left hand; the Saturn, Jazz, Latitude and the rest need nothing.
5) Can I get Schlage CS210 locks keyed alike across a building, or keyed to my existing Schlage system?
Keyed alike is an order option on the CS210, alongside standard keyed different. Cylinder choice drives the rest: order it with a conventional 6-pin C keyway cylinder, or order it less cylinder (less conventional, or less full size interchangeable core) and drop in the cores from your existing system. The lock accepts both interchangeable core and standard cylinders. Special keying requirements can be called out on the order.
6) If I need credentialed access instead of keys on an interconnected opening, what replaces the Schlage CS210-B60?
Two Dormakaba interconnected units cover that. The Saffire LX-I is an electronic interconnect RFID lockset with Bluetooth and a 3-hour fire rating, and the InSync RI5100G is a battery operated interconnected cylindrical latch and deadbolt lock using electronic RFID keys, supplied with a Gala lever, right hand, in satin chrome. The CS210-B60 is a mechanical, non-electronic lock keyed with a cylinder and shipped with 2 keys, so switching to either Dormakaba unit means moving that opening onto a credential system rather than a keyway. Note the InSync unit is handed right hand, while the CS210-B60 is non-handed except for certain lever styles.
7) What is the closest non-Schlage equivalent to the Schlage CS210-B60 interconnected entrance lock?
The Deltana CL300ILC is the nearest peer: it is an interconnected lock rated Grade 2 with an entry function and a Clarendon lever, matching the CS210-B60 on lock type, grade and entrance function. The differences are aesthetic and cylinder-related. The CS210-B60 is offered with 17 lever designs including Saturn, Accent, Manhattan and St. Annes, while the Deltana is built around the single Clarendon lever design. The Schlage also accepts either a conventional 6-pin C keyway cylinder or ships less cylinder for FSIC or conventional cylinders you supply, which matters if the opening has to fall into an existing key system.
8) Are the Schlage Residential FC58 Plymouth handleset and the CS210-B60 interchangeable?
No. The FC58 Plymouth is an outside handleset with 3 and 4 trim from the Schlage Residential Custom FCT-Series, a heavy duty entrance product but not an interconnected lock. The CS210-B60 is an interconnected lockset in which the inside lever retracts both the deadbolt and the latch in one motion for single motion egress, and it is a commercial product tested to ANSI/BHMA A156.12 Grade 2 with a 3 hour UL fire rating. If the opening is being specified for life safety egress or a fire rated door, the handleset is not a substitute for it.
9) What strikes come with a Schlage CS210 interconnected lock, and will they drop into my existing frame prep?
Two strikes ship with it, since it is a latch plus a deadbolt. The deadbolt strike is a 10-094, square corner, 1-1/8 x 2-3/4 inches. The deadlatch strike is a 10-096, square corner, full lip, no box, 1-5/8 x 2-1/4 inches. Compare those against the cutouts in your frame; matching face dimensions means a straight swap, and a frame prepped for a different strike size will need filler plates or a wrap.
10) Will a Schlage CS210 match the Schlage lever locks already on my other doors?
It suites with Schlage F Series and S Series tubular locks, so a building already running those can add interconnected locks at the entry doors and keep one look down the corridor. Levers come in 17 designs including Saturn, Latitude, Merano and Manhattan, in seven finishes: bright brass, antique brass, satin nickel, matte black, bright chrome, satin chrome and aged bronze. Pick the same lever and finish code you already have.
11) Should I use an interconnected lock or a separate lever lock and deadbolt on an apartment entry?
An interconnected lock like the CS210 exists specifically so the occupant does not have to operate two devices to get out. Two separate pieces of hardware mean the deadbolt gets thumbturned and then the knob turned, which fails single motion egress requirements. The CS210 retracts both from the inside lever in one motion and still gives you a deadbolt that deadlocks when fully thrown. If you do not need a deadbolt at all, a plain cylindrical lever lockset is the simpler buy.
12) What else can I buy instead of the Schlage CS210 interconnected lock?
On the mechanical side, the Deltana CL300ILC is a Grade 2 entrance interconnected lock with the Clarendon lever, the closest straight equivalent by grade and function. Dormakaba offers the J300 Series and the QCI200 Series interconnected locksets if you are standardizing on Dormakaba trim. What none of those change is the CS210's suiting with Schlage F and S Series tubular locks, so if the rest of the building is Schlage, staying in family keeps the keying and the lever look consistent.
13) Does the Schlage CS210 latch come with round corner faceplates, or do I have to order them?
Both are in the box. The standard 12-339 dual option latch ships with the square corner face as standard and the round corner face included in the package, so a router-prepped door with radius corners and a chisel-prepped door with square corners are both covered by the same order. Latch face is 1 x 2-1/4 inches.
14) What should I order for the inactive side of a double door if I am using CS210-B60 locks elsewhere in the building?
For a non-operating opening, the Schlage Residential FC94 Custom inside dummy handleset with Latitude lever and Collins trim is the pull-only option and carries a heavy duty rating. Latitude is also one of the lever designs offered on the CS210-B60, so the trim can be matched across the openings. Keep in mind the FC94 is a dummy with no latch or bolt, whereas the CS210-B60 is a keyed single cylinder entrance lock with a deadbolt that automatically deadlocks when fully thrown.
15) How do the Dormakaba J300 and QCI200 interconnected locksets compare with the Schlage CS210-B60?
All three are interconnected locksets, so they address the same kind of opening: a latch and deadbolt combined in one prep. The Dormakaba J300 Series and QCI200 Series are the Dormakaba equivalents by series. The CS210-B60 is the Schlage CS210 Series version, field configurable for 4 inch or 5-1/2 inch door prep, compatible with interchangeable core and standard cylinders, and offered in seven finishes from bright brass through matte black and aged bronze. For a distributor matching an existing standard, the deciding factor is usually which series is already on site, since the door prep centers and trim families do not carry across brands.
16) What is the difference between the Schlage CS210-B60 and the CS210-B62?
The B60 is the outside deadbolt and escutcheon design paired with a residential spin ring and the Camelot escutcheon. The CS200 Series offers two outside deadbolt designs and two inside escutcheon designs, so the B60 versus the alternate is purely which of those two trim looks you want. Function, grade and prep are the same across them: entrance single locking, Grade 2, 2-3/8 inch backset.
17) Is the Schlage CS210 heavy enough for a high traffic multi-family entry door?
It is built for it. Commercial classification, heavy duty, and it exceeds ANSI/BHMA Grade 2 for operational usage, security, cycle and finish. Construction is zinc and steel, with the 17 lever designs in pressure cast zinc. On a corridor door taking constant use, the interconnected format also means fewer separate pieces of hardware to service than a lever plus deadbolt pairing.
18) Can I order a Schlage CS210 with a different finish on the inside than the outside?
Split finishes and split styles are available on the CS200 Series but are not a standard configuration, and they carry extended manufacturer lead times. If you want the outside trim in aged bronze and the inside in satin chrome, for example, that goes through the Sales Center rather than a straight order off the seven standard finishes.
