Schlage Residential 06222AND626 – Frequently Asked Questions

1) Will the Schlage 06222 Andover rose lever work with a keyed entry F-Series lock?
No. The 06222 non-keyed lever with Andover rose works with Schlage F-Series functions except keyed entry. Use it for passage, privacy, or dummy style openings where no cylinder is involved. If the door needs a key on the outside, this lever is the wrong part for that side of the opening.
2) What comes in the box with the Schlage 06222 lever, and do I get a rose for both sides of the door?
One lever and one rosette. That covers a single side of the door. If you are rebuilding both faces, order two. It is a lock component, not a complete lockset, so the latch, spindle, and chassis have to come from the F-Series lock it is going into.
3) I need to match the Andover levers already on my apartment doors. What finishes does the Schlage 06222 come in?
Nine finishes: 505 Lifetime Brass, 605 Bright Brass, 608 Satin Brass, 609 Antique Brass, 619 Satin Nickel, 620 Antique Nickel, 625, 626 Satin Chrome, and 716 Aged Bronze. Finish numbers are the reliable way to match a fleet of units, so read the number off an existing lever rather than going by the name.
4) Is the Schlage 06222 a full lockset or just the lever and trim?
Just the trim side: a lever plus one Andover rose. Model 6222 is a replacement or service part for an existing Schlage F-Series lock. Buyers replacing a broken lever, changing a lever style, or converting a fleet to a different finish order this. Buyers who need a working latch and strike need the complete F-Series lockset.
5) Can I use the Schlage 06222 Andover lever on a commercial storefront or an office suite door?
It is a residential-grade component built for Schlage F-Series residential locks. On multi-family units, condos, and apartment interiors it is in its element. For a commercial opening carrying traffic or code requirements, go to a commercial lever lock line instead, not an F-Series part.
6) Does the Schlage 06222 non-keyed lever have a handing I need to specify when I order?
Finish is the only choice to make on the 06222, across nine options. There is no separate left or right hand part to pick. Levers on Schlage F-Series residential locks are field reversible at install, so the same part serves either swing.
7) Will a stainless steel lever like the Schlage 06222 hold up on a coastal or high humidity door?
The substrate is stainless steel, which resists corrosion better than a plated pot metal lever. Worth noting the finish sits on top of that substrate, so a decorative finish such as Antique Brass or Aged Bronze will still weather with exposure even though the underlying metal does not rust the way steel does.
8) Can I put an Andover lever on one side and a different Schlage lever style on the other?
Mechanically yes, since the 06222 is a single-side lever and rose ordered one at a time. Whether it looks right is the judgment call. On a privacy or passage F-Series function, pairing a lever with a knob or a different rose style on the opposite face is common on renovation work where only the corridor side is being changed out.
