1) Are these 10-24 screws stainless steel suitable for outdoor or wet locations?

2) What is the difference between these machine screws and sheet metal screws for the same job?
A machine screw like the JSRM221 has a uniform 10-24 machine thread and a blunt end, so it needs a tapped hole or a mating nut. A sheet metal screw cuts its own thread into thin material. If your box or bracket is already tapped 10-24, use the machine screw; if you are fastening into unthreaded sheet, you want a self-tapping screw instead.
3) Is the round head slotted screw a problem if I am driving a lot of them?
The JSRM221 uses a slotted drive, which takes a flat blade only, no Phillips or square bit. You can, but keep galvanic action in mind. 316 stainless is cathodic to aluminum and zinc, so in a wet or salt environment the aluminum or galvanized part corrodes around the fastener. Indoors and dry it is a non-issue. In exposed coastal work, isolate the joint or use a matching-metal fastener.
