Metallics 0004B – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What screw slot size does the Metallics 0004B slotted bit drive?
It is a 4-5 point slotted bit, meaning the blade is sized for the 4 to 5 size range of slotted screws. That covers the slotted terminal and device screws most often found on receptacles, switches, and panel covers. For larger slotted machine screws you want a wider-point bit.
2) What part number do I order for the Metallics 1-1/2 inch slotted insert bit?
Order Metallics 0004B. That is the manufacturer part number for the 1/4 inch hex shank, 4-5 point slotted, 1-1/2 inch bit.
3) Is the Metallics 0004B sold individually or in a multi-pack?
It ships as a single bit, one piece, supplied in a pouch. If you are kitting out a crew or stocking a truck, order the quantity you need rather than expecting a boxed set.
4) Is this Metallics bit meant for electrical work or general fastening?
The 0004B is catalogued by Metallics as an electrical supply item, and the 4-5 point slotted blade on a 1/4 inch hex shank matches the slotted screws on devices, covers, and terminals. Nothing stops you using it on general slotted fasteners of the same point size.
