Metallics 1004B – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Will the Metallics 1004B bit fit a standard cordless drill or impact driver?
The 1004B is a power bit with a 1/4 inch hex shank, so it drops into any 1/4 inch hex quick-change chuck, magnetic bit holder, or the hex collet on a standard impact driver. A keyed or keyless drill chuck will also grip the hex shank directly.
2) Is the Metallics 1004B a Phillips bit or a flat blade?
Flat blade. The 1004B is a slotted driver bit, not Phillips, square, or Torx. If you are wiring devices with Phillips or combination-head screws, you need a different bit.
3) How many bits come in a Metallics 1004B pack?
One bit per pack, supplied in a pouch. If you are stocking a van or a facility tool crib and want spares on hand, order multiples.
4) Is a 2 inch power bit long enough to reach recessed screws in a device box?
The 1004B measures 2 inches overall, which is the common power-bit length for reaching device and terminal screws set back in a box. For deeper work, run it in a magnetic bit holder or extension to gain reach rather than looking for a longer bit.
