Metallics QK525M – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What size screw is the Metallics QK525M, and how many come in a box?
The QK525M is a #10 x 3/4 inch screw with an indented hex washer head taking a 5/16 inch driver or socket, and it is sold 1000 pieces to the box. The combo drive head means it can also be run with a driver bit rather than a socket, which is handy overhead where a socket keeps slipping off.
2) What is a #10 x 3/4 hex washer head screw used for on an electrical job?
It is the general purpose fastener for box, strap, clamp and device mounting work. The hex washer head gives a wide bearing surface so it seats on sheet metal and strap holes without pulling through, and the 3/4 inch length keeps the point from protruding far behind the mounting surface. The QK525M is catalogued by Metallics for electrical fastening.
3) Is the QK525M sold as individual screws or only by the box of 1000?
It comes as a 1000 piece box under the single model QK525M, which is the only configuration of this item. For an MRO shop or a contractor standardizing on one mounting screw across a building, that bulk pack is the ordering unit.
