1) Will the Square D LR3D overload relay mount directly to my TeSys D contactor?
Yes. The LR3D TeSys Deca relay is built to mount directly under a TeSys D contactor, and the listed compatible contactors are the LC1D09, LC1D12, LC1D18, LC1D25, LC1D32 and LC1D38. If your panel layout won't allow under-contactor mounting, it can also be plate-mounted or rail-mounted with the appropriate accessories.
2) Which LR3D should I order for my motor's full load amps?
Two FLA ranges are offered: the LR3D08 covers 2.5 to 4A and the LR3D14 covers 7 to 10A, so the family spans 2.5A to 10A overall. Pick the model whose range brackets the motor nameplate FLA and set the dial to that current. A motor pulling, say, 5.5A falls between the two bands, so neither of these is the right dial range for it.
3) Is a Class 10A trip curve right for my pump or fan motor?
Class 10A is the standard-duty curve and it is what the LR3D uses, per IEC 60947-4-1, with a tripping threshold of 1.14 +/- 0.06 Ir. That suits normal starting times, which covers most pumps, fans and conveyors.
