1) Does the Square D LUCA control unit work on its own, or do I need a power base too?
The LUCA TeSys Ultra control unit is only half a starter. It plugs into a TeSys power base, LUB12, LUB32 or LUB38, and the two together form the complete starter controller for 3-phase motor circuits. Mounting is a front-face plug-in into the base, so order the matching base with it if you are not re-using one already in the panel.
2) Is the Square D LUCA control unit acceptable for a UL panel build?

6) Can I use this in an unheated or hot mechanical room?
