1) Will a 90 degree liquidtight connector work where the conduit has to turn right at the enclosure?
That is exactly what it is for. The 90 degree body makes the turn at the box or enclosure hub instead of forcing you to bend the flexible conduit into a tight radius, which is what you want when there is no room between the enclosure and a wall, deck, or adjacent equipment. On 2 and 2-1/2 inch liquidtight, the minimum bend radius is the usual problem, and the fitting takes the turn for you.
2) Can I use this on rigid conduit or EMT?
No. This is a liquidtight connector, made to terminate liquidtight flexible metal conduit, not threaded rigid or EMT. For a right-angle termination on rigid or IMC you want a threaded 90 degree elbow or a conduit body; for EMT, a 90 degree EMT connector or compression elbow. Buying this for EMT will get you a fitting that will not grip.
3) Does this connector seal against water and washdown?
