1) What gang sizes does the Steel City GCB steel box cover come in?
The GCB steel cover is offered in five gang sizes: 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 gang, ordered as 2 GCB, 3 GCB, 4 GCB, 5 GCB and 6 GCB. Pick the gang count to match the gang count of the box you are covering. It sells individually, one cover per unit.
2) I need a cover for a 4 gang masonry box. Is this the right part?
Yes, if the box is a 4 gang outlet box, order the 4 GCB. The GCB is a steel outlet box cover sized by gang count, so the cover gang size has to match the box gang size exactly, a 4 gang cover will not line up on a 3 or 5 gang box.
3) What is the GCB cover made of, and will it hold up in a damp mechanical room?
Steel, with a pre-galvanized surface finish. The zinc coating gives it ordinary indoor corrosion resistance for mechanical rooms, basements and similar dry-to-occasionally-humid interior locations. It is not a gasketed weatherproof cover, so do not use it outdoors or in a wet location.
4) Are Steel City GCB covers made in the USA?
Country of origin is the United States. That matters on public and institutional work carrying domestic-sourcing requirements, so it is worth noting on the submittal.
