Yes. The BR series space caps are made for both rigid (RGD) and intermediate metal conduit (IMC), which share the same trade size threading. Match the cap's trade size to the conduit run, for example BR 503 on 1 inch RGD or IMC.
3) Are Steel City BR space caps plastic or metal?
They are non-metallic. That makes them a throwaway protective cap for conduit ends rather than a load-bearing or bonded fitting, so do not count on one for grounding continuity or mechanical protection of an energized termination.
