Metallics 150EOS – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What size conduit does the Metallics 150EOS one-hole strap fit?
The 150EOS is sized for 1-1/2 inch EMT. One-hole EMT straps are sized to the conduit trade size, so it will not hold 1-1/4 or 2 inch EMT securely. Order the matching size for each run.
2) Do Metallics 150EOS straps meet Buy American and ARRA requirements for a public project?
Yes, the 150EOS is flagged compliant for both Buy American and ARRA, and country of origin is the United States. That covers the common federal and state funded job requirement for domestic electrical hardware.
3) How many 1-1/2 inch EMT straps come in a box of Metallics 150EOS?
They ship 50 to a box, and 50 count is the order minimum, so a single purchase gets you the full box rather than loose pieces.
4) Are the 150EOS conduit straps zinc plated steel, and will they hold up in a damp area?
Steel with a zinc finish. That's the standard plated strap used for dry and normally damp interior work. For salt air, wash-down, or continuously wet exterior exposure, spec a stainless or hot-dip galvanized strap instead of a zinc-plated one.
5) Are fasteners included with the 150EOS EMT straps?
No. The box contains the one-hole straps only. You supply the anchor or screw for the single mounting hole, matched to the substrate, whether that's a self-drilling screw into metal stud, a concrete anchor, or a wood screw.
6) Should I use a one-hole or two-hole strap for 1-1/2 inch EMT?
The 150EOS is a one-hole strap: one fastener per strap, faster to install, and the usual choice for interior EMT runs on wall and deck. A two-hole strap grips both sides of the conduit and resists twisting better, so it's the pick for heavier vertical runs or where the conduit takes side load.
7) How much does a box of 50 Metallics 150EOS straps weigh for shipping?
A box of 50 comes in at 6.36 lbs, with carton dimensions of 7.25 x 6.25 x 6 inches. Useful if you're staging material by floor or figuring freight on a multi-box order.
8) Can I get other sizes or pack quantities of the Metallics one-hole EMT strap?
Yes, Metallics offers other EMT strap sizes and quantities by request beyond the 1-1/2 inch, 50 count box. If you're standardizing a job across several conduit sizes, ask for the matching sizes rather than forcing one strap to cover a range.
