Metallics 75ROS – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What size conduit does the Metallics 75ROS one-hole strap fit?
The 75ROS is sized for 3/4 inch rigid conduit. It's a one-hole rigid pipe strap, so the saddle is formed to 3/4 inch rigid/IMC outside diameter and will be loose on 3/4 inch EMT, which has a smaller OD. For EMT runs, order an EMT-specific one-hole strap in the same trade size.
2) Does the Metallics 75ROS strap qualify for Buy American or ARRA-funded jobs?
Yes. The 75ROS is flagged both Buy American compliant and ARRA compliant, with country of origin listed as the United States. That covers the documentation most federal, school district, and municipal procurement packages ask for on conduit support hardware.
3) How many straps come in a box of Metallics 75ROS, and can I buy fewer?
They ship as a box of 100, and 100 count is the order minimum, so the box is the smallest buying unit. Metallics does make other sizes and quantities available by request if 100 of the 3/4 inch doesn't suit the job.
4) Is the 75ROS conduit strap suitable for damp or outdoor locations?
It's steel with a zinc finish, which is the standard plating for interior and protected exterior conduit support. Zinc-plated steel is not the choice for continuously wet, coastal, or corrosive-chemical environments; those call for stainless or PVC-coated straps instead.
5) One-hole or two-hole strap for 3/4 inch rigid conduit?
The 75ROS is a one-hole strap, fastened with a single screw or anchor through the center tab. One-hole is the faster install and the usual pick for straight runs on wood, drywall over backing, or masonry with an anchor. Go to a two-hole strap where the conduit carries more weight, where there's vibration, or where the inspector wants the run held against rotation, since a single fastener lets the strap pivot.
6) How much does a box of 100 Metallics 75ROS straps weigh and how big is the carton?
The packed box is listed at 8 lbs, with dimensions of 7.25 x 6.75 x 3.25 inches. Small enough to keep a couple of boxes on the truck for a rough-in.
