Sure-Loc BL-PH1 15 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What finishes does the Sure-Loc Boulder Euro paper holder come in?
Four: Vintage Bronze (11P), Satin Nickel (15), Polished Chrome (26) and Flat Black (FBL). They match the rest of the Boulder bath line, so towel bars, towel rings and robe hooks in the same series can be ordered in the same finish code for a consistent look across a bathroom or a whole unit turnover.
2) Is the Sure-Loc Boulder BL-PH1 paper holder rated for commercial restrooms?
No. The Boulder BL-PH1 is a residential-grade item, built for bathrooms and powder rooms in homes and apartments. For a high-traffic public restroom you want a commercial washroom accessory with heavier mounting, not this one.
3) What is the closest equivalent to the Sure-Loc Boulder Euro paper holder in another brand?
The Boulder BL-PH1 is a wall mounted euro-style paper holder, meaning the roll sits on an open post rather than a captive spindle between two posts. The closest match in style is the Orca Hardware 3655 Swirl Euro Toilet Paper Holder or the Orca Hardware 5255 Ripple Euro Toilet Paper Holder, both euro-style holders, differing in the decorative treatment of the series - Swirl on the 3655 and Ripple on the 5255. The Boulder version is zinc.
4) What is a Euro style toilet paper holder and how is it different from a post or bar style?
A Euro holder, like the Boulder BL-PH1, is an open-ended arm: the roll slides on from the free end, so there is no spring rod to pop in and out and no second post to unscrew. A bar or double-post style captures the roll between two supports, which holds the roll more securely but means feeding a spindle every change. If you prefer the captured-roll look, Emtek's bar style paper holders or Deltana's 98C Series double post cover that approach.
5) Are the mounting screws visible on the Sure-Loc Boulder paper holder?
No. Boulder bath hardware mounts with concealed fasteners, so the post is set to the wall first and the escutcheon covers the screws. It is a wall mounted holder, so you will want blocking or drywall anchors behind the finished surface.
6) Can I match this paper holder to other Sure-Loc Boulder bath accessories?
Yes. Towel bars, towel rings, paper holders and robe hooks are all offered in the Boulder series in the same four finishes, so a property manager standardizing bathrooms across units can order one finish code and keep everything consistent.
7) For rental units, is there a paper holder with a replaceable roller instead of the Boulder euro style?
The Sure-Loc Boulder BL-PH1 is a euro-style open post holder with no roller to replace. If you want the traditional spring roller arrangement, the Orca Hardware 2752 in the 27-Cypress Series and the Orca Hardware 4852 Blakely both come with a plastic tube, so the tube can be swapped if it is damaged by tenants rather than replacing the whole holder.
8) The Boulder holder is listed as residential - what do I use in a commercial restroom?
The Sure-Loc Boulder BL-PH1 is designated residential and is intended for bathrooms and powder rooms. If you need a heavier substrate for higher traffic, the solid brass Deltana options are the ones to look at: the 88DTPH in the 88 Series, the 55D2001 single post in the 55D Series, or the double post 98C2001 in the 98C Series, whose two-post design supports the roll at both ends.
9) Which paper holder should I choose if I want a bar style rather than a single post?
The Boulder BL-PH1 is a euro-style wall mounted holder. For a bar style, where the roll rides on a horizontal bar spanning two mounts, Emtek offers a Paper Holder - Bar Style in four series: Modern Brass, Transitional Brass, Traditional Brass, and Sandcast Bronze. Pick the series that matches the door hardware already in the room.
10) Is the Deltana BBN2001 a direct substitute for the Sure-Loc Boulder paper holder?
Not exactly. The Deltana BBN2001 in the BBN Series is a single post toilet paper holder, which puts the roll on one open post the same general way the Boulder euro holder does, so it serves the same function. It belongs to the Deltana BBN line, so its styling and finish range follow that series rather than the Sure-Loc Boulder line, which is offered in Vintage Bronze, Satin Nickel, Polished Chrome and Flat Black to coordinate with matching Boulder towel bars, rings and robe hooks.
