Sure-Loc LG-TR2SB 15 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What finishes does the Sure-Loc Lugano towel ring come in?
Four finishes: 15 Satin Nickel, 26 Polished Chrome, FBL Flat Black, and SB Satin Brass. Those finish codes are the standard BHMA-style designations, so if the other bath pieces or door hardware in the room are already specified as 15 or 26, the Lugano ring will read the same.
2) Is the Lugano towel ring rated for commercial bathrooms or apartment turns?
Sure-Loc classes the Lugano towel ring as residential, so it is built for everyday home bath use rather than heavy public-restroom duty. It is a reasonable fit for apartment units, condos, and hotel guest baths, which is how Sure-Loc lists its typical applications. For a high-traffic public restroom, spec a commercial washroom accessory instead.
3) What is the closest solid brass equivalent to the Sure-Loc Lugano towel ring from another brand?
The Deltana 88TR6 is the nearest match on material and construction - it is a 6 inch towel ring from Deltana's 88 Series built in solid brass, the same solid brass construction the Lugano Series towel ring uses. Deltana's 98C2008 is a second solid brass option, a 6 inch Classic ring in the 98C Series. Where the Lugano differs is that it is offered across four finishes - 15 Satin Nickel, 26 Polished Chrome, FBL Flat Black, and SB Satin Brass - so if you are matching an existing Lugano bath set, staying in the Sure-Loc series keeps the finish coding consistent.
4) Can I get matching towel bars and hooks to go with this towel ring?
Yes. The Lugano towel ring is one piece of Sure-Loc's Lugano Series within its Bath Hardware collection, and the series is built so the ring, bars, and other accessories share the same styling and finish family. Order the companion pieces in the same finish code you pick for the ring.
5) I need a larger diameter towel ring than the Lugano - what else is available?
Two Deltana rings publish larger diameters: the BBS2008 in the BBS Series is 6-1/2 inches and the BBN2008 in the BBN Series is 6-1/4 inches. Deltana's 88TR6 and 98C2008 both run 6 inches. If ring diameter is driving the choice - a bath towel versus a hand towel, or filling a wider wall space between a vanity and a door casing - the BBS2008 is the widest of the group.
6) We are specifying bath hardware for a whole-unit remodel - which towel rings come as part of a coordinated suite like the Lugano?
The Lugano towel ring belongs to a coordinated Lugano Series within Sure-Loc's Bath Hardware collection, so it pairs with matching Lugano pieces. If you want a coordinated suite from another manufacturer, Emtek builds bath hardware in four named families - Modern Brass, Traditional, Transitional, and Sandcast Bronze - each with a towel ring. Delaney does the same across Congaree 200, Cascade 300, Acadia 900, and Denali 1100, and Orca offers the 2760 Cypress, 3660 Swirl, 4860 Blakely, and 9160 Waldron. Picking a family first and then pulling the ring, bar, and hook from it is the cleanest way to keep a multi-unit job consistent.
7) The Lugano is a modern-looking ring. What if the bath calls for a traditional or rustic look instead?
The Lugano towel ring sits in Sure-Loc's Modern collection, so its styling is clean and contemporary. For a traditional profile, Emtek's Traditional Brass towel ring comes from its Traditional Bath Hardware family and Deltana's 98C2008 is a Classic 6 inch solid brass ring. For a rustic or hand-forged look, the Emtek Sandcast Bronze towel ring is drawn from the Sandcast Bronze bath family. Orca's 3660 Swirl in the 36-Swirl Series is another decorative-profile option.
8) Is the Sure-Loc Lugano towel ring the right choice for a commercial restroom?
The Lugano towel ring is designated residential and is purpose-built for residential washrooms and bathrooms - primary and guest baths, powder rooms, multi-family units, remodels, and hospitality guest bathrooms - rather than heavy commercial-duty use. Every towel ring in the comparable group is likewise decorative bath hardware built around series styling: Deltana's 88TR6 and 98C2008 solid brass rings, the Emtek Modern and Transitional Brass rings, and the Delaney and Orca series rings. For a public or high-traffic restroom you want commercial washroom accessories rather than any of these decorative rings.
9) Does this towel ring need any wiring or power?
No. It is a purely mechanical fixture with no electronic components, so there is nothing to wire, no batteries, and no low-voltage rough-in behind the wall. It mounts to the wall and that is the whole install.
10) I want a flat black towel ring but everything else in the bath is brass. Does Sure-Loc make both in the Lugano?
It does. The Lugano ring is offered in FBL Flat Black and SB Satin Brass, along with Satin Nickel and Polished Chrome, so you can run a black ring against brass fixtures or keep the whole room in one finish from the same series.
11) I need a flat black towel ring to match matte black faucets - does the Lugano cover that, or should I look elsewhere?
The Lugano towel ring is offered in FBL Flat Black, alongside 15 Satin Nickel, 26 Polished Chrome, and SB Satin Brass, so it covers a matte black bath package directly. If you prefer a dark ring with a warmer, hand-finished character instead, the Emtek Sandcast Bronze towel ring comes from Emtek's Sandcast Bronze bath family. Orca's 9160 Waldron in the 91-Waldron Series is another series to look at when matching a specific decorative profile.
12) Does choosing a different brand of towel ring change the installation work?
The Lugano towel ring is a fully mechanical fixture with no wiring or power requirements, so installation is a wall-mount post and fasteners only. The comparable rings - Deltana's 88TR6 and BBN2008, the Emtek Modern Brass ring, Delaney's Congaree 200, and Orca's 4860 Blakely among them - are all mechanical decorative bath rings as well, so switching brands does not add electrical work. What does change between them is the mounting post footprint and ring diameter, so if you are replacing an existing ring one-for-one and want to reuse the same anchor points, confirm the post pattern before you commit.
