Sure-Loc SO-TB9 15 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What lengths does the Sure-Loc Sorrento towel bar come in?
The Sorrento Series bath towel bar is offered in four lengths: 9 inch, 18 inch, 24 inch and 30 inch. The 9 inch is the size most people use as a hand towel bar next to a vanity or in a powder room, 18 and 24 inch are the common bath towel sizes, and the 30 inch suits a wider wall or a double-towel hang.
2) Which finishes are available on the Sorrento towel bar, and does every length come in all of them?
Four finishes across the board: Satin Nickel (15), Polished Chrome (26), Flat Black (FBL) and Satin Brass (SB). Every one of the four lengths (9, 18, 24, 30 inch) is built in all four finishes, so you can mix bar sizes in one bathroom and keep the finish consistent.
3) Is the Sure-Loc Sorrento towel bar suitable for a commercial restroom or a hotel?
No. Sure-Loc classifies the Sorrento towel bar as residential bath hardware, so it is meant for single-family and multi-family bathrooms, not for high-traffic public restrooms. For a commercial washroom you want a heavier commercial-grade bar with concealed mounting, not a residential decorative bar.
4) I only need to replace the bar, not the posts. Is a Sure-Loc Sorrento the right buy?
The Sorrento is a complete bath towel bar, so it is not a partial replacement piece. If you are replacing components, Delaney sells the Cascade 300 Series Towel Bar Only in a square profile for a bar without posts, and the Denali 1100 Series Towel Bar Post Only when the posts are what failed. Confirm the existing part matches before ordering a component rather than a full bar.
5) What is the closest alternative to a Sure-Loc Sorrento towel bar in a 24 inch length?
The Sorrento bath towel bar is offered in a 24 inch length in satin nickel, polished chrome, flat black and satin brass. If you need another 24 inch bar, the Delaney Congaree 200 Series 24 inch Towel Bar Set and the Orca Hardware Camano 24 inch Towel Bar Set are both sold at that same length. Both of those are supplied as sets, while the Sorrento is a towel bar.
6) I need an 18 inch towel bar in solid brass instead of the Sure-Loc Sorrento. What are my options?
The Sorrento is a residential bath accessory offered in 9, 18, 24 and 30 inch lengths. For an 18 inch bar specifically described as solid brass, Deltana lists the 55D2002/18 in the 55D Series, the 98C2002/18 Classic in the 98C Series, and the 88 Series 88TB12 at 12 inches if the shorter run works. The BBN2002/18 is another 18 inch Deltana towel bar in the BBN Series.
7) The Sorrento towel bar is a single bar. What should I use if I want a double bar for two towels?
The Sure-Loc Sorrento is a single towel bar. For a double-arm bar, Emtek offers the Sandcast Bronze Brass Double Towel Bar in its Sandcast Bronze bath hardware line and the Traditional Brass Double Towel Bar in its Traditional bath hardware line. Both hang two towels on one mounted unit.
8) Can I get matching accessories to go with the Sorrento towel bar?
Yes. The towel bar is one piece of Sure-Loc's Sorrento Series bath hardware line, so the ring, hook and paper holder in the same series are styled and finished to match. If you are outfitting several units in a building, ordering the whole set in one finish code keeps the bathrooms identical.
9) What else could I buy instead of the Sure-Loc Sorrento towel bar?
If you want solid brass rather than residential decorative hardware, Deltana's 18 inch bars are the closer spec: the 55D2002/18, the 98C Series Classic 98C2002/18 and the BBN2002/18, plus the 12 inch 88TB12 for a small wall. For a double-arm bar that hangs two towels in the same footprint, look at the Emtek Traditional Brass Double Towel Bar or the Sandcast Bronze Double. And for a matched set in one box, Orca's Camano 24 inch and Blakely 48 Series sets are alternatives.
10) I manage apartments and want one towel bar spec across every unit. Is this a good standardization pick?
It works for that. Four lengths and four finishes cover most unit layouts, and because the finish codes are the same across every length you can spec one finish building-wide and vary only the bar size by bathroom. Sure-Loc calls it out for multi-family residential use. Just keep in mind it is residential-grade hardware, so it is sized for unit bathrooms rather than a shared common-area restroom.
11) For a multi-family renovation, how does the Sure-Loc Sorrento compare with the Orca Hardware towel bar sets?
The Sorrento is a residential bath accessory in four finishes and four lengths, part of the coordinated Sorrento bath hardware collection so it can be matched to other Sorrento accessories unit to unit. Orca Hardware offers towel bar sets in several styled series, including the 36 Swirl Series, the 48 Blakely Series and the 27 Cypress Series, which come as sets rather than a single bar. The decision usually comes down to whether you want to standardize on one coordinated accessory collection across the units or buy a bar and mounting pieces together per bath.
12) What is a modern-styled alternative to the flat black Sure-Loc Sorrento towel bar?
The Sorrento is offered in a flat black finish across its 9, 18, 24 and 30 inch lengths. For a different modern look, the Emtek Modern Brass Towel Bar sits in Emtek's Modern Brass bath hardware line, and the Emtek Transitional Brass Towel Bar bridges modern and traditional styling. The Delaney Cascade 300 Series Towel Bar Only is a square-profile piece if you want straight lines rather than a round bar.
13) Is a towel bar set the same thing as the Sure-Loc Sorrento towel bar?
Not quite. The Sorrento is sold as a bath towel bar in a given length and finish. Items such as the Delaney Acadia 900 Series Towel Bar Set, the Delaney Congaree 200 Series 24 inch Towel Bar Set and the Orca Camano 24 inch Towel Bar Set are catalogued as sets, so the contents differ from a single bar. Check what a set includes before treating it as a one-for-one swap.
14) I need a short towel bar for a powder room. Does the Sorrento work, or is there a shorter option elsewhere?
The Sure-Loc Sorrento is offered at 9 inches, which is the short run typically used in powder rooms and next to vanities. If you need something in between, the Deltana 88TB12 is a 12 inch solid brass bar in the 88 Series. Longer Sorrento runs of 18, 24 and 30 inches cover full bath walls.
15) Does the Sorrento towel bar need power or wiring of any kind?
No. It is a purely mechanical towel bar, no electronic components, no wiring and no transformer. Installation is a matter of mounting the two posts to the wall and setting the bar between them.
16) Will Flat Black Sorrento hardware match matte black faucets from another brand?
It will read as black, but no maker guarantees a cross-brand match on black finishes and tone varies between manufacturers. The safer play is to keep all the bath accessories in the same Sorrento finish code (FBL) so the bar, ring and hook agree with each other, and treat the faucet as a separate design element.
