Sure-Loc SO-TR1 15 – Frequently Asked Questions

1) What finishes does the Sure-Loc Sorrento towel ring come in?
Four finishes: 15 Satin Nickel, 26 Polished Chrome, FBL Flat Black, and SB Satin Brass. Those finish codes are the same ones Sure-Loc uses across its other hardware, so if the bath is being finished to match door levers or pulls already specified, order by the code rather than the name.
2) Is this Sure-Loc towel ring rated for commercial restrooms or just homes?
It's a residential-grade fixture. Sure-Loc classifies the Sorrento towel ring for residential use, so it suits homes, condos, and apartment units rather than public restrooms in a school, stadium, or office building. For a high-traffic commercial washroom you want a heavier commercial accessory with concealed mounting, not this.
3) What is a close equivalent to the Sure-Loc Sorrento towel ring if I need a published ring diameter for a spec submittal?
The Deltana 88TR6 is a 6 inch towel ring in the 88 Series, solid brass, and the Deltana 98C2008 is a 6 inch Classic towel ring in the 98C Series, also solid brass. For slightly wider projections, the Deltana BBN2008 in the BBN Series measures 6-1/4 inches and the BBS2008 in the BBS Series measures 6-1/2 inches. All four are wall-mounted towel rings in the same role as the Sorrento ring, with a stated size you can put on a drawing.
4) Will a Delaney or Orca towel ring drop into the same holes as a Sure-Loc Sorrento towel ring?
Do not assume so. The Delaney Congaree 200, Cascade 300, Acadia 900, and Denali 1100 towel rings and the Orca 2760 Cypress, 3660 Swirl, 4860 Blakely, and 9160 Waldron rings are each their own series with their own mounting post and baseplate design, so they are alternatives to the Sure-Loc Sorrento ring rather than retrofit replacements for it. On a like-for-like swap in an occupied unit, staying within the Sorrento series keeps the existing anchor and baseplate coverage predictable; changing brands means checking the new baseplate covers the old holes.
5) Can I use this towel ring in apartment turns across a multi-family property?
Yes, that's a normal use for it. Sure-Loc lists multi-family residential properties among the applications, and since it's a residential-grade accessory in four finishes it standardizes well across units. The advantage for a property manager is the Sorrento Series runs as a coordinated bath hardware group, so towel bars, rings, and paper holders can be bought in the same finish and style for every unit.
6) Will the Sorrento towel ring match other Sure-Loc bath accessories?
Within the Sorrento Series, yes. It is designed as part of Sure-Loc's Sorrento bath hardware group, so the towel bar, ring, robe hook, and paper holder in that series share the same styling and finish codes. Mixing it with a different Sure-Loc series will give you the right finish family but not the same escutcheon and post shape.
7) I need a matching towel ring for a whole bath suite. Which brands here sell it as a coordinated series?
Several do, which matters if you want bar, ring, and hook to match. Sure-Loc's is the Sorrento Series. Delaney runs its rings in named series too, Congaree 200, Cascade 300, Acadia 900, and Denali 1100. Orca Hardware has Cypress, Swirl, Blakely, and Waldron series rings. Picking a series and staying inside it is how you avoid mismatched posts and plates on the same wall.
8) The Sorrento towel ring is residential. What should I look at for a bath hardware program where I want a solid brass ring?
The Sure-Loc Sorrento towel ring is designated for residential use. If solid brass construction is what you are after, Deltana publishes it directly: the 88TR6 6 inch ring in the 88 Series and the 98C2008 Classic 6 inch ring in the 98C Series are both solid brass. Emtek also offers brass bath rings in its Modern Brass, Traditional, and Transitional bath hardware lines, plus a Sandcast Bronze towel ring if you want a cast bronze look instead.
9) I need a matte black towel ring for a rental turn. Is the Sorrento the only option or are there other coordinated residential lines?
The Sure-Loc Sorrento towel ring is offered in Flat Black (FBL) along with 15 Satin Nickel, 26 Polished Chrome, and SB Satin Brass, so one series covers several unit styles. If you want a different design family in the same residential role, Delaney offers towel rings in the Congaree 200, Cascade 300, Acadia 900, and Denali 1100 Series, and Orca Hardware offers the 2760 Cypress, 3660 Swirl, 4860 Blakely, and 9160 Waldron rings. Confirm the finish code on the specific series you choose before you standardize a property on it.
10) If I like the Sorrento look but the design is too plain for a traditional bath, what else mounts in the same spot?
Any of these wall-mounted towel rings occupies the same position and serves the same function as the Sure-Loc Sorrento ring, so the choice is styling. For traditional or period baths, Deltana's 98C2008 Classic 6 inch solid brass ring and Emtek's Traditional Brass towel ring sit in that vocabulary, and Emtek's Sandcast Bronze ring gives a heavier rustic cast look. For a transitional middle ground, Emtek's Transitional Brass ring or Orca's 9160 Waldron are the alternatives. Mounting locations differ by product, so plan blocking or anchors for whichever you select.
11) Does this towel ring need any wiring or power?
No. It's a fully mechanical fixture, no wiring, no batteries, no transformer. Installation is a mounting post fastened to the wall and the ring attached, which means no electrician and no coordination with the rough-in.
12) Is a towel bar the same thing as the Sorrento towel ring for a powder room?
No. The Sure-Loc Sorrento product is a towel ring, a compact wall-mounted ring for a single hand towel, which is why it suits powder rooms and vanity walls where a bar will not fit. Towel bars are a separate item and take far more wall length. If the Sorrento styling is not right, the equivalent swaps are other towel rings such as the Deltana 88TR6 at 6 inches or the BBS2008 at 6-1/2 inches, not a bar.
