Sure-Loc SO-PH1 15 – Frequently Asked Questions

1) What finishes does the Sure-Loc Sorrento single post paper holder come in?
Four finishes: 15 Satin Nickel, 26 Polished Chrome, FBL Flat Black, and SB Satin Brass. Those codes are the same ones Sure-Loc uses across its other hardware, so if the levers and towel bars in the bath are already a Sure-Loc 15 or 26, you can match the paper holder to them by code rather than by eye.
2) Can I use the Sorrento paper holder in an apartment building or a hotel bath?
Sure-Loc rates the Sorrento single post paper holder as residential, and the description calls out multi-family residential units among its typical applications, so apartment and condo baths are within its intended use. For a high-traffic public or commercial restroom it is not the right grade of accessory; look to a commercial washroom accessory line instead.
3) What is the closest single-post equivalent to the Sure-Loc Sorrento Single Post Paper Holder from another brand?
The Deltana 55D2001 and the Deltana BBN2001 are both single post toilet paper holders, so either matches the Sorrento's single-post mounting style. The 55D2001 is part of Deltana's 55D Series and is solid brass; the BBN2001 belongs to Deltana's BBN Series. The Sorrento version is a residential bath accessory offered in Satin Nickel, Polished Chrome, Flat Black, and Satin Brass, so the deciding factor is usually which brand's other bath hardware is already going on the wall.
4) I need a double post holder instead of a single post - what should I order?
The Deltana 98C2001 is a Classic double post toilet paper holder in the 98C Series, made of solid brass, so it captures the roll between two posts rather than on one. The Sure-Loc Sorrento Single Post Paper Holder uses a single-post mounting style, so if the bathroom design calls for a two-post cradle, the 98C2001 is the one to specify.
5) Is a single post paper holder the right choice, or should I use a double post or bar style?
Single post means the roll loads onto one arm from the open end, so you can change a roll one-handed and there is no spring rod to lose. It is the simplest form and the most compact on a narrow wall return next to a toilet. If you want the roll captured on both ends, Deltana's 98C Series Classic is a double post holder. If you prefer a holder that doubles as a small grab-style bar, Emtek's bar style paper holders (Modern Brass, Transitional Brass, Traditional Brass, Sandcast Bronze) are the alternative form.
6) Will this paper holder match the rest of the Sure-Loc bath hardware I already ordered?
It is part of the Sorrento Series bath hardware collection, which is built so the towel bars, rings, and hooks share the same styling and finish codes. Order the paper holder in the same finish code as the other Sorrento pieces and the set reads as one suite.
7) What are the alternatives if I want a solid brass paper holder instead?
For a single post holder specified in solid brass, Deltana's 55D2001 (55D Series) and 88DTPH (88 Series) are both solid brass, and the BBN2001 is Deltana's single post in the BBN Series. Emtek's Sandcast Bronze bar style is the option if you want a cast bronze look rather than brass.
8) What is the difference between the Sorrento Single Post Paper Holder and Emtek's bar style paper holders?
The Sorrento is a single-post holder - the roll sits on one post. Emtek's paper holders are bar style, where the roll rides on a bar or spindle carried between mounts. Emtek offers that bar style across several bath hardware collections: Modern Brass, Transitional Brass, Traditional Brass, and Sandcast Bronze. Pick by the look of the rest of the suite, since the loading motion differs between a post and a bar.
9) For apartment turns, is there an alternative that uses a replaceable roller instead of a fixed post?
Yes. The Orca Hardware 2752 in the 27-Cypress Series and the Orca Hardware 4852 Blakely both come with a plastic tube, so the roller is a separate serviceable piece if a tenant breaks one. The Sure-Loc Sorrento Single Post Paper Holder instead uses a single-post design with no tube, which means fewer loose parts to track across units. Either approach works in multi-family baths; the choice comes down to whether you would rather stock spare tubes or avoid them.
10) Which paper holders look like a substitute for the Sorrento single post but mount differently?
The Orca Hardware 3655 Swirl and the Orca Hardware 5255 Ripple are Euro style toilet paper holders, in the 36-Swirl and 52-Ripple Series respectively, and the Deltana 88DTPH is an 88 Series solid brass holder. All three hold a roll, but none is described as a single post unit, so they are not drop-in matches for the Sure-Loc Sorrento Single Post Paper Holder if you are replacing one post-style holder with another and want the same mounting footprint.
11) I need a solid brass paper holder - does the Sorrento qualify, or should I look elsewhere?
If solid brass construction is on your spec, the Deltana options call it out directly: the 55D2001 single post, the 88DTPH, and the 98C2001 double post are all solid brass. The Sure-Loc Sorrento Single Post Paper Holder is specified as a residential bath accessory in Satin Nickel, Polished Chrome, Flat Black, and Satin Brass, and it is a purely mechanical fixture with no electronic components. For a submittal that names the base metal, the Deltana solid brass holders are the safer write-up.
12) I am matching a dark bronze bath suite - is the Sorrento the right holder or is there a better fit?
The Sure-Loc Sorrento Single Post Paper Holder comes in Satin Nickel, Polished Chrome, Flat Black, and Satin Brass, so Flat Black is the darkest option in the line. For a bronze suite specifically, the Emtek Sandcast Bronze Paper Holder - Bar Style sits in Emtek's Sandcast Bronze Bath Hardware collection and is built around that material rather than a plated dark finish. Note it is a bar style holder, not a single post.
13) Does this paper holder need any wiring or batteries?
No. It is a purely mechanical fixture with no electronic components, so it mounts to the wall and that is the whole install. Nothing to power, nothing to reset.
14) I need a cheap paper holder for a rental turn where the roll gets replaced constantly. Anything simpler?
The Sorrento single post is already about as simple as it gets, with no spring rod. If you specifically want a holder with a replaceable tube rather than a fixed post, Orca Hardware's 2752 (Cypress) and 4852 (Blakely) both come with a plastic tube, and Orca's 3655 Swirl and 5255 Ripple are Euro style holders in the same family of use.
