Sure-Loc SO-SET-PH1 15 – Frequently Asked Questions

1) What finishes does the Sure-Loc Sorrento paper holder come in?
Four finishes: 15 Satin Nickel, 26 Polished Chrome, FBL Flat Black, and SB Satin Brass. Those codes match the standard finish designations Sure-Loc uses across its other hardware, so if you already spec'd 15 or 26 on the door hardware in the same unit, the bath accessory will carry the same code.
2) Is the Sure-Loc Sorrento paper holder rated for commercial restrooms?
No. It is classified as residential and built for everyday household use, not heavy commercial-duty traffic. For a high-traffic public restroom you want a commercial-grade holder; use the Sorrento in primary baths, guest baths, powder rooms, and multi-family unit bathrooms.
3) I need a double post paper holder instead of a single post - what should I order?
The Sure-Loc Sorrento set is a single post design, so it will not work where a double post roller is wanted. The Deltana 98C2001 is a Classic double post toilet paper holder in the 98C Series, solid brass, and is the direct alternative for that configuration.
4) What is the closest single post equivalent to the Sure-Loc Sorrento paper holder set from another brand?
The Deltana 55D2001 and Deltana BBN2001 are both single post toilet paper holders, matching the Sorrento's single post configuration. The 55D2001 belongs to Deltana's 55D Series and is solid brass; the BBN2001 belongs to the BBN Series. The Sorrento set is a Sure-Loc Sorrento Series piece offered in satin nickel, polished chrome, flat black, and satin brass, so if you are already standardizing on Sure-Loc bath hardware the Sorrento keeps the collection consistent, while the Deltana units are the pick when the rest of the bath is Deltana.
5) Will the Sorrento paper holder match the rest of my bath accessories?
It is part of the Sure-Loc Sorrento Series bath hardware line, so it is intended to be paired with the other Sorrento pieces (towel bars, rings, hooks) in the same finish for a matched set. Mixing it with another brand's collection will not guarantee a finish or profile match.
6) I'm outfitting a block of rental units. Is the Sorrento single post holder a reasonable standard, or should I look at something else?
For multi-family residential units it is a fair standard spec: it is a residential-duty holder, sold as a complete set, and available in four finishes so one finish choice can run the whole property. If tenants tend to hang on the holder, a bar-style unit like the Emtek Modern Brass Paper Holder spreads load across two mounting posts instead of one. For a budget line with a plastic roller tube, the Orca Hardware 2752 and 4852 are alternatives we carry.
7) What is a solid brass alternative to the Sure-Loc Sorrento single post holder?
Deltana's 55D2001 is a single post holder in solid brass, and the BBN2001 is another single post option from Deltana. The 88DTPH is Deltana's 88 Series holder, also solid brass. All three keep the single-post format if that is what you are replacing.
8) What is the difference between a post style paper holder like the Sorrento and Emtek's bar style holders?
The Sure-Loc Sorrento set uses a single post that carries the roll on one arm. Emtek's bath hardware paper holders are bar style, where the roll rides on a bar spanning two supports - available as the Modern Brass, Traditional Brass, Transitional Brass, and Sandcast Bronze versions. Bar style generally means two wall contact points to locate, while the Sorrento's single post concentrates the mounting on one side, which matters in tight spots next to a vanity or in a powder room.
9) For apartment turns, is there an alternative with a roller tube rather than the Sorrento's post?
Yes. The Orca Hardware 2752 in the 27-Cypress Series and the Orca Hardware 4852 Blakely in the 48-Blakely Series are both toilet paper holders supplied with a plastic tube, so the roll rides on a replaceable spindle rather than a fixed post as on the Sure-Loc Sorrento set. Property managers doing repeated unit turns often prefer the tube style because the spindle is the wear item and can be swapped on its own.
10) The Sorrento set is residential duty - what should I spec for a higher traffic bathroom?
The Sure-Loc Sorrento Series set is designated residential, intended for primary baths, guest baths, powder rooms, and multi-family units rather than heavy commercial duty. Where you want a solid brass body instead, the Deltana 55D2001 single post, Deltana 88DTPH in the 88 Series, and Deltana 98C2001 double post are all solid brass toilet paper holders and are worth looking at for the same opening.
11) Can I mix a Deltana or Emtek paper holder with the rest of a Sure-Loc Sorrento bath set?
Mechanically yes - all of these are non-electronic wall mounted paper holders with no wiring involved - but the styling will not match. The Sorrento set is built to coordinate with other Sorrento Series bath hardware pieces, while the Deltana 88DTPH sits in the 88 Series and the Emtek bar style holders sit in their own Modern Brass, Traditional, Transitional, and Sandcast Bronze bath hardware lines. If a matched suite is the goal, keep the paper holder in the same series as the towel bars and rings.
12) Does this paper holder need any wiring or batteries?
No. The Sorrento paper holder is purely mechanical with no electronic components, so it mounts to the wall with no power or low-voltage rough-in involved.
13) Does the Sorrento paper holder ship as a complete assembly or do I buy the post and bracket separately?
It ships as a complete paper holder set, so the holder arrives ready to mount rather than as separate components you assemble from multiple part numbers. You pick one thing: the finish.
14) What are the euro style alternatives if the Sorrento single post is too traditional for the design?
The Orca Hardware 3655 Swirl and Orca Hardware 5255 Ripple are euro style toilet paper holders, from the 36-Swirl and 52-Ripple series respectively. Both are styling alternatives to the Sure-Loc Sorrento single post set, which is styled to coordinate with the rest of the Sorrento Series bath hardware line.
