Sure-Loc MN-PH2 15 – Frequently Asked Questions

1) What finishes does the Sure-Loc Monza two-post paper holder come in?
Four finishes: 15 Satin Nickel, 26 Polished Chrome, FBL Flat Black, and SB Satin Brass. Those are the full set of Monza paper holder options, so if you're matching other Monza bath pieces or lever sets in a unit, pick the same finish code across the order.
2) Is the Sure-Loc Monza paper holder rated for commercial restrooms?
No. The Monza two-post holder is a residential-grade accessory, meant for household and multi-family bathrooms rather than heavy commercial-duty traffic. For a public or high-traffic restroom you want a commercial washroom accessory line instead.
3) What is the closest two-post equivalent to the Sure-Loc Monza paper holder from another brand?
The Deltana 98C2001 is the nearest match in configuration - it is a Classic double post toilet paper holder in solid brass from the 98C Series, so like the Monza it carries the roll on a pair of posts with a removable spindle between them rather than on a bar or a single post. If you want the double-post look in solid brass rather than the Monza's finish range of satin nickel, polished chrome, flat black and satin brass, the 98C2001 is the substitution to make.
4) What should I use instead of the Monza paper holder where there is only room for one wall post?
Go to a single-post holder. Deltana offers two: the 55D2001, a single post holder in solid brass from the 55D Series, and the BBN2001 single post holder in the BBN Series. Both mount from one point and cantilever the roll, so they fit beside a vanity or in a narrow powder room where the Monza's two-post span will not clear. The trade-off is that a single post supports the roll at one end only.
5) Two-post versus a bar-style paper holder, which should I use?
The Monza is a two-post mount: two posts carry a spring roller and the roll sits between them, so the roll is captured at both ends. A bar-style holder, like Emtek's Modern Brass, Traditional Brass, Transitional Brass, and Sandcast Bronze paper holders, uses a single bar or pivot arm instead. Two-post is the familiar residential setup and keeps the roll from sliding off; bar style is usually chosen for looks or for easier one-handed reloading.
6) Will this paper holder match the rest of my Monza bath accessories?
Yes, it's built as part of the Sure-Loc Monza Series bath hardware collection, so it shares the Monza styling with the other Monza bath accessories. Order it in the same finish code as the towel bars and rings and it reads as one set.
7) Will the Monza holder take a standard roll of toilet paper?
Yes. The two posts are spaced to hold a standard bathroom tissue roll, which is what the holder is configured for. Extra-wide or jumbo commercial rolls are a different animal and belong on commercial washroom dispensers.
8) Are the Emtek bar style paper holders a drop-in substitute for the Monza two-post?
Not a drop-in. The Emtek Modern Brass, Traditional Brass, Transitional Brass and Sandcast Bronze paper holders are all bar style, meaning the roll slides onto a single continuous bar mounted at both ends rather than onto a spindle held between two posts. The mounting footprint and the way the roll is changed both differ from the Monza. Choose the Emtek bar style if you are matching an Emtek bath set; stay with the Monza if you want the two-post spindle.
9) For a multi-family turn package, what else holds a roll on a replaceable plastic tube like a standard apartment holder?
The Orca Hardware 2752 from the 27-Cypress Series and the Orca 4852 Blakely both ship as toilet paper holders with a plastic tube, which is the roller style most commonly pulled and replaced during unit turns. The Sure-Loc Monza is a two-post holder configured for residential use and coordinates with the rest of the Monza bath hardware, so it suits a unit you are finishing to a matched set; the Orca tube holders suit a standardized turn spec.
10) Does the Monza paper holder need batteries or any wiring?
None. It's fully mechanical with no electronic components, so there is nothing to power and nothing to service beyond the mounting screws.
11) Is there a paper holder that uses a replaceable plastic roller instead of a metal one?
For a plastic tube roller, look at the Orca Hardware 2752 in the 27-Cypress Series or the Orca Hardware 4852 Blakely, both of which are listed with a plastic tube. Orca also offers open euro-style holders with no tube at all, the 3655 Swirl and 5255 Ripple. The Sure-Loc Monza is the two-post style.
12) Is the Monza paper holder suitable for multi-family units and powder room remodels?
Those are exactly the applications it's configured for: primary and guest bathrooms, powder rooms, multi-family residential units, and home bath remodels. Because it comes in four finishes, it's workable for standardizing across a building of apartments on one look.
13) What is a more contemporary alternative to the Monza two-post holder?
The Orca Hardware 3655 Swirl and 5255 Ripple are Euro style toilet paper holders, a wall-hung open-arm form with no second post, and each carries its own decorative profile - Swirl from the 36-Swirl Series and Ripple from the 52-Ripple Series. The Monza is a squared two-post holder offered in satin nickel, polished chrome, flat black and satin brass and is built to coordinate with the other Monza bath pieces, so it is the pick when the rest of the room is already Monza.
14) If I am specifying solid brass throughout the bathroom, which paper holder matches that?
Deltana's holders are the solid brass options: the 88DTPH from the 88 Series, the 98C2001 double post from the 98C Series, and the 55D2001 single post from the 55D Series. Emtek's Modern, Traditional and Transitional bar style holders are brass as well, with a Sandcast Bronze version if you are working in bronze. The Sure-Loc Monza is the two-post choice when finish coordination with the Monza set matters more than the base material call.
