Sure-Loc SM-SET-PH3 15 – Frequently Asked Questions

1) Is a Euro-style paper holder the same as a post-style one?
No, and it changes how you load the roll. The Somma is Euro style, an open arm the roll slides onto with no spring-loaded roller. Post-style holders like the Deltana 55D2001 single post or the 98C2001 classic double post use a separate spindle, and holders such as the Orca 2752 Cypress ship with a plastic tube. Euro means fewer loose parts to lose in a rental unit; post style is the traditional look.
2) What is the closest equivalent to the Sure-Loc Somma Euro paper holder in another brand?
The Somma Series Euro Paper Holder Set is a Euro-style open-arm paper holder, so the nearest match in style is the Orca Hardware 3655 Swirl Euro Toilet Paper Holder from the 36-Swirl Series, or the Orca Hardware 5255 Ripple Euro Toilet Paper Holder from the 52-Ripple Series. Both are Euro-style holders like the Somma; the difference is the decorative treatment of the Orca pieces, Swirl and Ripple, versus the clean contemporary Somma profile that coordinates with the Sure-Loc Ridgecrest collection.
3) I need a paper holder with an enclosed roller instead of an open Euro arm - what should I use?
The Sure-Loc Somma Euro Paper Holder Set is an open Euro-style design. If you want a holder that captures the roll on a tube, look at the Orca Hardware 2752 from the 27-Cypress Series or the Orca Hardware 4852 Blakely, both of which are supplied with a plastic tube. The roll loads onto the tube between two posts rather than sliding onto an open arm, which some property managers prefer in rentals where rolls get pulled hard.
4) What finishes does the Sure-Loc Somma Euro paper holder come in?
Four finishes: 15 Satin Nickel, 26 Polished Chrome, FBL Flat Black, and SB Satin Brass. Those codes are the standard BHMA-style finish designations, so if the door levers and towel bars in the bath are already spec'd in 15 or 26, the Somma paper holder matches the same call-out.
5) Will this Sure-Loc paper holder match my other bath accessories?
It coordinates within the Sure-Loc Somma Series, which sits in the Ridgecrest collection. So if the towel bar, ring, and robe hook in the room are Somma pieces in the same finish, the paper holder set carries the same Euro-style profile. Mixing it with another Sure-Loc series will not line up visually.
6) Is the Sure-Loc Somma paper holder a good fit for multi-family apartment bathrooms?
Yes, for standard residential multi-family. The description lists multi-family residential properties among its applications along with powder rooms, guest baths, and primary suites. Buying one finish across a building keeps replacements interchangeable unit to unit. It is not intended for commercial-duty restrooms in the common areas.
7) Can I use the Sure-Loc Somma paper holder in a commercial restroom?
The Somma Series Euro Paper Holder Set is built as residential bath hardware, intended for home bathrooms, powder rooms, and multi-family units rather than commercial-duty restrooms. If the application is a light-traffic residential-style bath in a multi-family building, it fits; for anything heavier, a solid brass holder such as the Deltana 88DTPH in the 88 Series is the more substantial construction to look at.
8) Is there a solid brass alternative to the Sure-Loc Somma paper holder?
Yes. The Deltana 88DTPH from the 88 Series and the Deltana 55D2001 single post holder in the 55D Series are both solid brass paper holders, as is the Deltana 98C2001 Classic double post holder in the 98C Series. Deltana's BBN2001 is also a single post holder in the BBN Series. The Somma set is Sure-Loc's residential Ridgecrest-collection Euro design, so the choice comes down to whether you want the contemporary Euro profile or a posted solid brass holder.
9) We are matching a traditional bathroom - is the Somma the right look or should I pick something else?
The Somma Series Euro Paper Holder Set is a clean contemporary Euro profile, so it reads modern rather than traditional. For a period-style bath, the Deltana 98C2001 Classic double post holder in the 98C Series or the Emtek Traditional Brass Paper Holder - Bar Style are the traditional-styled options, and the Emtek Sandcast Bronze Paper Holder - Bar Style gives a rustic cast finish instead.
10) Does the Somma paper holder need any wiring or power?
None. It's a fully mechanical accessory, no wiring, power supply, or electronic components. Install is mounting hardware only, which is why it suits a quick bathroom remodel or a unit turnover with no electrician on site.
11) Is this sold as a complete paper holder set or just the bracket?
It ships as a complete paper holder set, supplied as a washroom accessory set rather than a loose component. Finish is the only thing you select when ordering.
12) If I want the paper holder to match an existing towel bar line, how does the Somma compare to Emtek?
The Somma Series Euro Paper Holder Set coordinates within Sure-Loc's Ridgecrest collection, so it pairs with other Somma Series bath pieces. Emtek takes the same approach across separate series: the Modern Brass, Transitional Brass, Traditional Brass, and Sandcast Bronze bar-style paper holders each belong to their own Emtek bath hardware line. If the room already has Emtek accessories, match the holder to that Emtek series; if you are starting fresh in a residential bath, the Somma keeps the Ridgecrest look consistent.
