Thomas & Betts DPLG-1 – Frequently Asked Questions

1) What color options does the Thomas & Betts DPLG duplex cover plug come in?
Three colors: silver (DPLG-1), bronze (DPLG-1-BR), and white (DPLG-1-WH). Pick the one that blends with the cover plate or device box you are closing off, so unused openings don't stand out on a finished wall or column.
2) Is the DPLG plug metal or plastic?
Non-metallic. That makes it non-conductive and corrosion-free, which is why it is often chosen over a metal plug in damp or washdown locations. It is also RoHS compliant, which matters if your specification restricts hazardous substances.
3) What does a duplex cover plug like the DPLG actually do on a job?
It closes an unused duplex receptacle opening in a cover so the wiring system stays sealed and nothing can be inserted into a dead opening. Property managers and MRO crews use them on floor boxes, pedestals, and outdoor covers where a device has been removed but the box stays in place. The DPLG is non-metallic, so it will not corrode or carry current.
4) Do I get one plug or a pack when I order a DPLG-1?
Sold each, one plug per unit. Order a quantity to match the number of openings you are closing off rather than expecting a multi-pack.
