Metallics JRWH37212 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Can I use this Metallics hanger stud in concrete or steel instead of wood?
No. The JRWH37212 is a wood hanger mount, intended to drive into wood framing only. For concrete deck you need a drop-in or wedge anchor with a 5/16 or 3/8 threaded insert, and for steel bar joist or beam you need a beam clamp or rod hanger clamp sized to the flange.
2) Will the Metallics JRWH37212 accept 5/16-18 rod couplings and hanger nuts?
The exposed end is 5/16 inch thread, which in US fastener practice is 5/16-18 coarse, so standard 5/16 hanger nuts, washers, couplings and rod hangers thread onto it. Match whatever 5/16 hardware you are already using for your drops.
3) Is the Metallics JRWH37212 sold individually or only by the jar?
It ships as a 25-piece jar, so the jar is the buying unit. For MRO stockrooms that is a convenient shelf quantity, but if you only need a handful of hanger points you will still be buying all 25.
