1) Will 7/16-14 rod thread into a 1/2 inch coupling or beam clamp?
No. 7/16-14 and 1/2-13 are different diameters and different thread pitches, so they will not interchange. Hardware for the TRS5/6SS has to be tapped 7/16-14. If the clamps and nuts already on the job are 1/2 inch, buy 1/2-13 rod instead.
2) Is this threaded rod stainless steel or zinc plated?
Stainless steel, per the SS designation in the Metallics TRS5/6SS part. That matters where a plated or galvanized rod would corrode: wet locations, kitchens, coastal or wash-down areas, and exterior hanger runs. If the run is in a dry conditioned interior, a plated carbon steel rod is the usual cheaper choice.
3) Can I use 7/16-14 threaded rod for hanging electrical conduit and strut?
Yes, 7/16-14 is a standard hanger rod size and the TRS5/6SS is sold as electrical department stock for exactly that use: trapeze supports, strut hangers, conduit clamps and beam clamps tapped 7/16-14. Cut the 6 foot length to the drop you need and thread a nut and washer each side of the strut. Rod only, no nuts, washers, or clamps come with it.
4) Does the TRS5/6SS ship as a single rod or a bundle?
The Metallics TRS5/6SS is packaged as a bundle rather than a single loose stick, so plan quantities around bundled 6 foot lengths when you are estimating a hanger run.
