Metallics DRT36VOH14 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) How many rods come in a pack of Metallics DRT36VOH14?
Ten rods per pack. If you're hanging strut, conduit runs, or electrical boxes across a job, count your drop points and order in multiples of 10, since the rods ship assembled as a 10-piece unit rather than individually.
2) Can I cut the 36 inch threaded rod down to shorter drop lengths?
Yes. Full-length 36 inch 1/4-20 rod is normally bought to be cut on site to the drop you need, and the continuous thread means any cut point still takes a nut or coupling. Deburr or chase the cut end so the nut starts cleanly.
3) Will 1/4-20 threaded rod work for hanging electrical boxes and conduit?
That's its intended use. The DRT36VOH14 is an electrical fastener, and 1/4-20 is the common small-diameter hanger rod size for light conduit runs, junction boxes, and small strut drops. For heavier trapeze supports or larger conduit banks, step up to 3/8-16 or 1/2-13 rod instead.
4) What part number do I order for Metallics 1/4-20 by 36 inch threaded rod?
Order Metallics MPN DRT36VOH14. That number covers the 1/4-20 x 36 inch rod supplied 10 pieces to the pack.
