Metallics JPFMWAC2251500 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Will the 1/4 x 3 Metallics acoustical fastener anchor into steel bar joists or concrete deck?
No. This one is the wood version, so it is meant for wood joists, purlins, or blocking at 3 inches of length. For steel or concrete overhead you need the matching anchor type for that substrate, not this fastener.
2) What is the Metallics JPFMWAC2251500 acoustical tie wire fastener used for?
It is a wood acoustical fastener used to hang suspension wire from wood framing, typically for suspended acoustical ceiling grid and similar hanger-wire work. The 1/4 x 3 size means a 3 inch length that drives into wood joists or blocking, with a loop for the tie wire to pass through.
3) How many pieces come in the Metallics JPFMWAC2251500 tie wire hanger pack?
25 pieces, supplied in a jar. If you are hanging a full ceiling grid, work out your hanger spacing first and order enough jars to cover the drop count, since one jar covers 25 hanger points.
4) Does the Metallics acoustical hanger come with the tie wire, or do I order that separately?
The jar holds the 25 wood acoustical fasteners themselves. Hanger wire is bought separately by the coil and sized to your ceiling load and drop height.
5) Is there more than one size or version of the Metallics JPFMWAC2251500?
Just the one. Part number JPFMWAC2251500 is a single model in 1/4 x 3, so there is no length or finish choice to specify when ordering.
