That's exactly what it's for. The Topaz 251MRT is a compression coupling that joins two lengths of unthreaded Rigid or IMC conduit of equal size, so you don't have to cut threads on the field ends. Both openings are the same size, so it couples like to like, 1/2 inch to 1/2 inch, 2 inch to 2 inch. It will not join a run to a threaded hub or step between two different trade sizes.
