TOTO TET3LBIA32#SS – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Is the TOTO TET3LBIA32#SS flush valve for a toilet or a urinal?
Toilet. The TOTO TET3LBIA32#SS is an electronic flush valve set up for water closet service at 1.28 gallons per flush, so it is not the part to order for a urinal fixture, which uses a lower flush volume valve.
2) Does the TOTO TET3LBIA32#SS mount exposed on the wall or behind it?
Concealed. This TOTO electronic flush valve is the concealed version, meaning the valve body sits behind the finished wall with only the sensor plate showing. If the existing valve on the fixture is chrome and exposed above the bowl, this is not a like-for-like swap; you need the exposed model instead.
3) Will a 1.28 gpf electronic flush valve work on my existing water closet, or do I need to match the bowl?
Flush volume has to match the bowl. The TET3LBIA32#SS delivers 1.28 gallons per flush, so it suits a 1.28 gpf water closet. Putting it on a bowl engineered for 1.6 gpf or a 1.0 gpf high-efficiency bowl will give you carry or clearing problems, so check the gpf rating cast or labeled on the fixture before ordering.
4) What part number do I give my supplier for the TOTO concealed 1.28 gpf electronic toilet flush valve?
Order TOTO TET3LBIA32#SS. The #SS suffix is TOTO's finish designator on the trim, so quote the number complete with the suffix to avoid getting a different trim finish shipped.
5) Is this an automatic sensor flush valve or a manual handle?
Sensor operated. This TOTO unit is an electronic flush valve (EFV) with IoT-capable controls, so it flushes on user detection rather than by a lever or push button. That matters for touch-free restroom specs in healthcare, education, and high-traffic commercial washrooms, and it means the rough-in needs power provision in the chase, not just a supply stop.
