TOTO 1FU4148#CP – Frequently Asked Questions
1) How long is the TOTO Lloyd 1FU4148 shower arm?
The TOTO Lloyd shower arm, model 1FU4148#CP, is a 14 inch arm and ships with an adapter. That length pushes the showerhead well out from the wall, which is what you want when you are feeding a rain-style head that needs to sit over the center of the bathing area rather than tight against the tile.
2) Is this a shower arm or a tub spout?
It is a shower arm, not a tub spout. The TOTO Lloyd 1FU4148#CP is catalogued as a shower arm for shower and tub applications, meaning it serves the showerhead leg of a tub/shower trim set. If you need the spout that fills the tub, that is a separate Lloyd trim piece.
3) I am replacing a short standard shower arm with this 14 inch Lloyd arm. Do I need to change anything in the wall?
No wall work is needed. A shower arm threads into the existing 1/2 inch NPT drop ell behind the tile, so swapping a short arm for the 14 inch TOTO Lloyd arm is a thread-in change at the escutcheon. Just note the longer arm moves the head roughly a foot off the wall, so check ceiling height and shower curtain or glass clearance before you set it.
4) What finish does TOTO 1FU4148#CP come in?
Polished chrome. The #CP suffix in the TOTO part number 1FU4148#CP is TOTO's polished chrome code, and it is the only finish offered on this Lloyd arm, so if the rest of the trim in the bath is brushed nickel or brass this arm will not match.
5) Will the TOTO Lloyd 14 inch shower arm work with a non-TOTO showerhead?
The Lloyd 14 inch arm is supplied with an adapter, and shower arms in North America use 1/2 inch NPT threads at both the wall drop and the head, so any standard 1/2 inch NPT showerhead threads onto it. What the arm will not do is change the look of mismatched trim, so plan on a polished chrome head if appearance matters.
6) Does the TOTO Lloyd 1FU4148 shower arm include a showerhead or valve trim?
Arm and adapter only. The TOTO Lloyd 1FU4148#CP is a trim accessory, so the showerhead, the valve trim plate, and the handle are all ordered separately. For a full Lloyd tub/shower install you will be specifying the valve body, the Lloyd trim, the head, and this arm as four line items.
