TOTO THP3090 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What exactly is the TOTO THP3090 part?
THP3090 is the upper mounting bracket assembly from TOTO, ordered under the M4 x 8 vandal screw designation. It is mounting hardware for a TOTO washroom fixture, not a complete fixture or trim kit, so it is bought as a replacement or service part when the existing upper bracket is damaged, missing, or being swapped out during a fixture repair.
2) How do I make sure I am ordering the right TOTO bracket, upper or lower?
Order by position. THP3090 is the upper bracket. If the piece you are replacing sits at the bottom of the fixture, it is a different TOTO part number and THP3090 will not line up with the lower mounting holes. Match the TOTO part number stamped on your existing hardware or on the fixture's service parts diagram before ordering.
3) Does the TOTO THP3090 bracket include the screws, or do I order those separately?
THP3090 is supplied under the M4 x 8 vandal screw designation, so the fastener size tied to the upper bracket is M4 with an 8 mm length. If you are replacing the bracket on a fixture that also uses a lower bracket, that lower piece carries its own TOTO part number and is ordered separately.
4) Can I substitute a generic M4 x 8 machine screw for the TOTO THP3090?
No. THP3090 is the upper mounting bracket itself, not a loose screw, and the vandal-resistant head on TOTO's hardware is what keeps a public restroom fixture from being pulled off the wall. A hardware-store M4 x 8 will not replace the bracket and gives up the tamper resistance on the fastener.
5) Is TOTO THP3090 a plumbing part or a bathroom accessory part?
Both, in practice. THP3090 is a TOTO plumbing department part classed as washroom and bath accessory mounting hardware, so a facilities buyer will usually find it with restroom fixture service parts rather than with faucet or valve internals.
