TOTO THP4945#BN – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Is the TOTO THP4945#BN a replacement part or a complete drain assembly?
It's a service part, the lift rod with its knob, not a full drain. If your pop-up drain body, pivot rod, or tailpiece is also worn or corroded, the rod alone won't fix it; you'd need the drain assembly as well. Buy this when the rod is bent, stripped at the threads, or the knob is damaged and the rest of the pop-up still works.
2) What is the TOTO part number and finish for the THP4945#BN lift rod with knob?
Order it as TOTO THP4945#BN. The #BN suffix is TOTO's finish code, so the part number already carries the finish, and it's the only configuration this part is sold in. Give a supplier the full designation including the #BN rather than just THP4945, since TOTO uses the suffix to separate finishes.
3) Does the THP4945#BN lift rod work on a bathroom sink faucet?
Yes, it's a sink application part. The lift rod rises through the faucet body behind the spout and connects by a clevis strap to the pop-up drain's pivot rod, so it suits a lavatory faucet set up for a pop-up drain, not a tub or shower valve.
4) I manage several buildings with TOTO lavatory faucets. Can I stock one lift rod for all of them?
Not safely. TOTO ships finish-specific and model-specific lift rods, and THP4945#BN is one specific rod in one finish. For a fleet of openings you'd match the rod to each faucet series and to the trim finish already on the fixture, otherwise the knob won't match the spout and the rod length may not suit the faucet body.
