TOTO THP4058 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What exactly is TOTO part THP4058?
THP4058 is a TOTO Soiree arm adapter service part, supplied as an O-ring. The seal measures 21.8 mm inside diameter with a 2.4 mm cross section, so it is the sealing ring at the arm adapter joint rather than the adapter casting itself.
2) My TOTO Soiree shower arm is weeping at the adapter joint. Is this the right O-ring?
That weeping is usually the arm adapter seal, and THP4058 is the TOTO O-ring for the Soiree arm adapter. Before ordering, pull the old ring and measure it: this one is 21.8 mm ID with a 2.4 mm cord thickness. If what you remove is a different size, it is a different seal point on the valve or trim, not this part.
3) Does THP4058 come with the arm adapter body or any other hardware?
You get the O-ring only. THP4058 ships as a single seal, 21.8 mm ID by 2.4 mm section, with no adapter body, escutcheon, or mounting hardware. If the adapter casting itself is cracked or the threads are damaged, the ring will not fix it and you need the adapter assembly instead.
4) Will a generic hardware store O-ring work instead of the TOTO Soiree adapter seal?
Only if it matches the actual geometry. The TOTO seal is 21.8 mm inside diameter with a 2.4 mm cord, which is a metric size that does not line up cleanly with common inch O-ring kits. An undersized or over-thick substitute either will not seat in the groove or will deform and leak again, so the matched THP4058 ring is the safer replacement.
5) Is TOTO THP4058 sold in one version only, or do I have to pick a size or finish?
There is nothing to specify. The Soiree arm adapter O-ring is a single part, ordered as THP4058, with one size (21.8 mm ID, 2.4 mm cross section) and no finish or size options. Finish does not apply to a buried rubber seal.
6) We stock TOTO parts for a hotel. What should I order THP4058 by?
Order it by the TOTO manufacturer number THP4058, described as the Soiree arm adapter O-ring. That number is the ordering identity for the part, so a desk or maintenance tech can call it in without describing the seal dimensions.
