1) Will the TOTO THU068 trip lever fit a Drake toilet with an R suffix model number?
No. The THU068 trip lever is for Drake toilets except those with the R suffix. If the model number on your tank stamps out as an R-suffix Drake, this lever is the wrong part and you need the R-suffix version instead. Check the model on the tank before ordering, since the two are not interchangeable.
2) I manage a building with a lot of TOTO Drake toilets and the handles keep snapping. Can I stock one trip lever for all of them?
One part covers the fleet as long as every tank is a non-R-suffix Drake: THU068 is the Drake trip lever, and it is the same lever across those toilets regardless of the bowl. Order it in Cotton White (THU068#01) if the tanks are standard white china. The only unit that needs a different part is any Drake carrying an R suffix in its model number, so walk the building and note those separately before you set a stocking level.
3) Is the TOTO THU068 the whole flush valve or just the handle?
Just the handle assembly. A trip lever is the outside handle plus the arm inside the tank that lifts the flapper chain; it does not include the flush valve, flapper or fill valve. If your Drake is running or not sealing, the trip lever is not the part that fixes it. Order THU068 when the handle itself is broken, loose, corroded, or you want to change its finish.
4) How do I know which TOTO trip lever finish to order to match my existing Drake handle?
Match on the suffix after the pound sign, not on the color name you see on the old handle. TOTO uses the same suffix system across the Drake line, so a tank ordered in Cotton White takes #01, Bone takes #03, Colonial White #11, Sedona Beige #12 and Ebony #51. If the existing lever is metal, it is one of #CP polished chrome, #BN brushed nickel, #PN polished nickel, #PB polished brass or #RB rubbed bronze. The suffix is usually still legible on the original toilet paperwork or on the tank china marking.
