Trimco TRI-1110-8.630 – Frequently Asked Questions

1) Will a Trimco 1110 flush pull work on a pocket door or a barn door?
That's what the 1110 Series is built for. It's a recessed pull for pocket and barn doors, where a projecting handle would stop the door from sliding into the pocket or past the jamb. The pull mortises into the door face and sits flush, with concealed screws so there is no visible fastener head on the finished side. Non-handed, so the same pull works on a left- or right-sliding door.
2) Do I need to order two flush pulls for a pocket door?
For a single pocket door you normally need two 1110 pulls, one on each face, so the door can be pulled closed from inside the room and opened from the hall. The pull is non-handed, so it's the same part on both sides, just order the quantity. On a barn door that only slides one way against a wall, one pull on the exposed face is often all that fits.
3) What sizes do Trimco 1110 flush pulls come in?
Three standard lengths: 8 inch, 10 inch and 18 inch. All three are stocked in every finish offered. The 8 and 10 inch pulls are the usual choice for a single pocket door where the pull is grabbed at hand height; the 18 inch is the tall option people use on full-height barn doors or where the pull doubles as an edge grip over a longer reach. Trimco also makes the 1110 in custom sizes and shapes for a specific project.
4) What finishes are available on the Trimco 1110 flush pull, and can I match the rest of my door hardware?
Six finishes, all standard BHMA numbers so they cross-reference directly to locks and hinges from other makers: 605 Bright Brass, 606 Satin Brass, 613 Oil Rubbed Bronze, 613E Dark Oxidized Satin Bronze, 622 Matte Black and 630 Satin Stainless Steel. Every one of those is offered in all three lengths. If you're standardizing a building, 630 is the usual commercial default and 613 the usual match for oil rubbed bronze levers.
5) What is the Trimco 1110 flush pull made of?
Stainless steel, bronze or brass, depending on the finish you order. The substrate follows the finish: 630 Satin Stainless Steel is stainless, the 605 and 606 brass finishes are brass, and the 613 and 613E bronze finishes are bronze. All solid metal, no plated pot metal, which is why it holds up in high-traffic corridors and multifamily turns.
6) Is a flush pull enough on its own, or do I need an edge pull too?
A flush pull like the 1110 handles the door once it's out of the pocket. On a pocket door that recesses fully, the leading edge disappears into the jamb, so most installs also take a separate edge pull mortised into the door edge to draw the door back out. The 1110 does not include one. Same on a barn door that parks tight against a wall stop. Plan the edge pull as a second line item on the order.
