1) What is the difference between E-Mount and G-Mount on Trimco 1700 Series bars?
Mounting is the ordering choice that ties the bar to your door type. The 1700 Series is offered with mounting options for metal, wood and glass doors, and the 1737 is ordered as either E-Mount or G-Mount. Pick G-Mount for a glass door application and E-Mount for the standard metal or wood door mounting used across the series push bars.
2) What finishes does the Trimco 1737 push/pull bar set come in?
Eleven finishes: 605 bright brass, 606 satin brass, 613 oil rubbed bronze, 613E dark oxidized satin bronze, 622 matte black, 625 bright chrome, 626 satin chrome, 628 satin aluminum, 629 bright stainless, 630 satin stainless, and 710CU Healthy Hardware Steralloy Silver. For a building already standardized on 630 satin stainless, that is the one that will match your other door trim.
3) Should I use an offset pull like the 1737 or a straight pull?
An offset pull stands the grip off the door face at 90 degrees, which gives a fuller hand grip and clears the door edge better on a heavy entry. If you want the grip parallel to the door instead, the straight pull version in the same 1 inch diameter and 10 inch CTC is the Trimco 1731. Same set concept, same bar diameter, just a straight rather than offset pull.
4) I need a wider pull spread than 10 inches on my Trimco push/pull set. What do I order?
Step up models rather than trying to modify the 1737. For a 12 inch CTC offset pull in the same 1 inch diameter, order the Trimco 1738. If you want a heavier 1-1/4 inch bar, the 1747 gives an 18 inch CTC offset pull and the 1747-1 a 12 inch CTC offset pull. The 1737 is fixed at 10 inch CTC.
5) Is the Trimco 1737 an antimicrobial option for a hospital or school?
Yes, in one finish. The 710CU Healthy Hardware Steralloy Silver is Trimco's Healthy Hardware copper alloy option, and the 1737 is flagged as a Healthy Hardware product. If touch surface material matters for your facility, that is the finish code to specify; the other ten finishes are standard architectural finishes.
